These are perfect for shading and are thin enough to easily get into detailed areas but, thick enough to easily fill in a larger surface area. I personally love the lighter shades in this set for writing on darker colored paper. Lovely marker set.

Lovely color palette for portraits

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am an adult who enjoys drawing and coloring, and I have been looking for a set of markers to use when drawing and/or coloring people, animals, and landscapes. I was very  excited to try this gorgeous set of Sharpie Portrait colors. When using these markers, I felt I was more accurately able to depict skin tone, hair, lips, eyes, animal fur, rocks, tree bark, etc. The Sharpie markers all had saturated color that glided smoothly onto the paper. The color is vibrant and doesn't fade. The markers are long lasting and easy to use. My oldest daughter is an artist and prefers to use these markers over her other ones. The markers are high quality and last for months, if not years.

Perfect for skin tones and nature scenes

I got her the Sharpie - Fine Portrait Color Markers. She is SO happy with them! True to Sharpie, the lines are sharp and the color glides on smoothly. You can't even see the overlaps when she colors in a big section.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love that they made a neutral bundle with everything you need. Prefect for any project needing neutrals or perfect for portrait artwork. At first use I felt the markers were a little dry but after using them longer that wasn't an issue.

Liking neutrals

These are perfect for skin tones if you like to color like me. I use them all the time and absolutely love them. I went from being stuck with either using brown or neutral to having colors in between. I do use a bloater page underneath to catch any ink that goes through. I love the precision and drying time with sharpie it's always perfect and fast. As with all sharpie brand the packaging is perfect so you can see what you are buying but also durable and easy to get into.

It is great to have choices for many projects. The tips are fine, they are great for pencil drawing or writing. You seem to get the perfect lines needed. These sharpies are bold, fade and water resistant, and quick drying.

I realize that they are fine tip, but not a fan of that.  I suppose for what they are, they work well.  I like for the flow of the pen to be smoother and less stiff.  Also not a huge fan of the variety of colors in the pack.  I am not sure what they would be used for.
