This stuff works VERY well,it's very natural looking.It's also MUCH more GENTLE on the hair

Leaves my hair with a smooth, healthy texture.  However, the color is more mahogany than I like.  My hair is a natural reddish brown but I have some grey I want to cover.  I prefer a more coppery dark red - I wish Shea would make that kind of shade.  I may try to combine one of Shea's brown colors with the dark auburn but that will be an experiment & it may take time to find the best brownish shade - would be much easier if Shea made a reddish brown shade to begin with.

I have been using this color for about 3 years.  I receive compliments all the time.  Sometimes I mix it with the light auburn - it is very pretty.  Only problem is that the color does not last very long on gray hair.

GREAT COLOR

I have used two other colors of Shea Moisture hair dye and liked it! I decided to try a different shade and my scalp was so irritated! And it dyed my scalp red and I couldn't get it to scrub off for several washings.

This product failed to cover my grays at all despite leaving it on extra time as recommended.   It actually failed to change my naturally dark hair color at all.   I get more benefit from henna with the down side being the mess.   This was not messy and was easy to apply.   No noticeable damage to my hair and products were not unpleasant smelling.
