I love my DVD set, so glad I checked Walmart 1st to purchase it.
However my only regret is that the 4th CD of the set at 1 hour into the movie it skips and then starts up again fine but I missed 15  minutes of the movie.

I remember shogun coming on tv as a kid but I didn't remember exactly what it was about. So I purchased the series and it was fantastic and I wish it didn't have to end. Richard Chamberlain is one of my favorite actors I love everything he plays in

Timeless classic

I have been waiting for years to purchase this Movie.  Now that it was at a decent price I  jumped on it.  I would tell anyone who likes Richard Chamberlain to get this movie.

Shogun

my husband has wanted this movie for years, even before internet, he's not technical so he couldn't find it . one day he was talking about it and i looked it up and ordered it.  he has watched this 9 hr movie 3 times, yes 3 times and enjoyed each time

I had seen this many years ago and never had the opportunity to finish the whole series. I purchased this DVD set and watched it with my family and they all absolutely loved it! If they made this Mini-Series now with today's technology and actors. Then this would be an box office!!!

Simply Amazing!

This is a great movie/mini-series. Richard Chamberlain really pulls off the pirate stuck in feudal Japan. Great extra's and with DVD it is a much better quality presentation than our old VHS recordings from TV. We paid in the mid $60's for this DVD set. For a movie released in the mid-80s I expected to get if for a little cheaper, but if you have to have it - its worth it. I look for Wal-Mart to reduce the price in few years.

Great Movie, but it could be a little cheaper

Great movie of time and life of Samurai. Great miniseries staring Richard Chamberlain as an English navigator stranded off the coast of Japan at the beginning of the 17th century. Toshiro Mifune as the Samurai destine to be Shogun, the supreme military dictator of Japan.
