While this game does not follow the same formula as the earlier Silent Hill games it is still a very worthy title. The game looks great and plays very well - the mood is not as scary as the other Silent Hill games it still does a fine job of leaving you disturbed and feeling like you took another dark journey into the world of Silent Hill. If you enjoy horror games pick it up. If you are a fan of Silent Hill just know that it is not like the earlier games of the series but pick it up and enjoy it for the game it is.

This game has some huge gaps to fill. I love the Silent Hill franchise and have always been a huge fan of all of the games; however, this one kind of shot that idea for me. The best parts about this game are its eeriness and similarities to the earlier games in the franchise. This game has a very nice atmosphere and very chilling sounds/music. All of these very good things are almost spoiled by the lack of gameplay and monster difficulty. There are parts of the game that offer little to no health and the enemies take a long time to gun down. I found myself running from enemies rather than fighting them. Also, there are enemies in the game that if hit once will turn around and start to walk a glitching path. The boss battles in this game are ridiculous. The boss Scarlet consists of a huge porcelain doll that takes a very long time to kill. Once breaking off her armor, she starts to run around making it near impossible to hit. Like I said, this game is decent because it is Silent Hill and it is a decently scary game but most of the game is flawed.

Some good parts...

I can't really say much about this game. The main objective really is to find your brother. I don't really care too much for it, I'm kinda getting out of the survival horror genre. I would recommend this game to just about anyone, I just don't care too much for it.
