I really like this dish. The size is perfect I only needed it to keep one stick of butter and that is what it does but is not crowded. There a little space around the butter which I like. My only thing is that I would have preferred not to have the knife on top but I couldn't find this size without it. Still a great dish and I am very happy with it. Also the fact it had a seal on the lid was important to me and this one has the seal.

Love this butter dish w/lid %26 knife. Discreet, classy, looking, and very functional. I use real butter so it sits out on counter and seals very well. Wash ceramic portion %26 knife in dishwasher but not wooden top with silicone seal. Thinking about buying a few for gifts at Christmas.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm an old lady who treated herself to a new butter dish and threw out an old one.
The dish is attractive and looks good on the counter top, the table top or in the refrigerator.  The lid fastens tight and is easy to wash.

Nothing like a butter smear

I love it keeps clean and you know the butter is in

this is a good sturdy butter dish with a bamboo sealant top. the design and the appearance are really nice and I like the fact that it came with a butter knife. but the butter knife doesn't really fit the tops indentations or placeholder for it and it's one of those knives that has those cute little but useless holes and grooves in case you want to curl your butter. I would have preferred just a basic sleek knife that fit the indentation. but overall I'd say it's a goodbye and it's great value for the money and it is very sleek and nice on the countertop. I do not use the butter knife that came with it however.

Couple things are wrong with this item - first of all, it only barely holds one stick of butter.  The top dimension is wide enough but the bottom is not.  Then it actually doesn't really fit even one stick, as the lid does not close all the way.  The knife on the top is a cute idea, but is impractical.  Once you use the knife, now it has butter on it.  If you then put it back on the top now the wood top also has butter on it.  Ended up tossing it in a drawer.  I do like the appearance and despite these flaws I am using it (I bake all our bread and like to have some high quality butter sitting out at toom temp).  Will continue searching however.

Disappointing

the knife did not lock down on lid.  The picture looked like it would. It just sits on top, not in the cutout area

This butter dish is well made , the little butter knife that comes with it is heavy duty not some cheap flimsy thing.  I really loved the lid as well nice wood. 
The only problem is the lid does not want to stay down.  The ribbing around the edges pushes the lid up so there's no seal 
I wish it didn't do that the rest of this butter dish is perfect.

Perfect aside from the lid fit

This is a cute butter dish. The top, though, does NOT seal when you press down. It floats right back up so you can never fully secure this dish. It is very frustrating. The knife that comes with it is also cute, but it slides back and forth and doesn't fit securely on top. My old plan of just putting butter on a plate with bowl on top worked better and cost nothing. Total waste of money.
