Very affordable and beautiful uses batteries I put rechargeable ones. There's also one that you could plug into the wall so look real good before you purchase for the one you want.

MY GRANDSON WANTED THIS FOR XMAS...WAS SO EXCITED WHEN OPENED ....VERY HAPPY WITH IT  HES 11YRS OLDO:-)

Good product, well made and it works well. It's battery powered so you don't need a plug and shutdown after a few minutes of inactivity.👍

It came very fast but it was battery operated and I can't afford the batteries for this besides that it was awesome

Some People Are Fearful Of Plasma Balls Who Never Experience Science...It Was Very Weird To See A Person Jump Back From It...

Plama Balls Are Enlightening...

You can set it to turn itself off if no one interacts with it or so it just keeps going until you turn it off.

I expected more from an item associated with the Smithsonian name. The box touts "An incredible Plasma Light show at your fingertips". No. it's not. The cheap one I had previously purchased for my grandson had a much brighter, more lights and better reaction to touch. The lights react to sound sporadically and it has to be loud music or set the lamp on the speaker/music source. 
I assumed (my bad) that this would have both ac/dc choices. I was wrong.  It takes 6 AA batteries.  It gets expensive. 
I do not recommend this item.
I have been trying to return it but the Walmart app is "having difficulty at this time" for several weeks.

Nope. Not Smithsonian quality.

This item clearly states PLUG-IN .....when it arrived it states need 6 AA Batteries.   I'm NOT happy!!!

I specifically ordered this one because it said it was a plug-in and didn't require batteries. Well there isn't even a port to to plug it in. It also requires 6 AA batteries! Very disappointed!!!
