I read all of the reviews on the cordless Snow Joe and watched all the videos.  And still I was skeptical.  But I took the plunge based on how positive all the reviews are.   WOW!!! This thing is fantastic.  I live in upstate NY and have been waiting for a snowfall to try this thing out on my 40' x 4' paver walkway.    Not the light fluffy stuff that makes shoveling easy, but the heavy wet stuff we get so often.  The backbreaking stuff that makes you sweat and curse.    Today I got the chance to try it out on 3-4 inches of the wet stuff.   This thing had no trouble with it at all.  I wouldn't say that it was no work at all, but it was nowhere near as difficult as it would have been shoveling by hand.  I hardly broke a sweat.  In fact, it was almost fun.  When I was finished, I started looking for other areas to clear.  Can't say that I ever did that with a shovel.  

Now, if you are the type of person who likes to clear the snow all the way down to the pavement, not leaving behind a speck of snow, this isn't for you.  It doesn't remove the snow all the way to the pavement, at least it didn't with the heavy wet stuff.  It might with the light fluffy stuff.  For me, I'm not that kind of person.  As long as the path is clear, I'm happy.   And it does really throw the snow 20+ feet.  

I agree with some of the other reviewers that continually gripping the trigger can make your hand tired, but that is a small tradeoff for all of the other great things it does.  I have no idea how long the battery will last on one charge, but it handled about 15-20 minutes of the heavy stuff with no problem.    

Don't hesitate any longer.  Buy this thing.  You won't be disappointed.  I'm actually looking forward to more snow.

The Snow Joe shovel is a breeze to use. It is light enough to use without exertion and makes easy work of cleaning the drive way and deck. It is small enough for easy storage but still big enough to push 12" deep snow. The battery is powerful and will tackle any task. The only down side is that it pushes snow in front of itself so on a long drive way you will plough through what was thrown in front. But no worries, it's just more fun work to use this snow shovel.

The Snow Joe iON13SS Cordless Snow Shovel has truly made my life much easier this winter.  As a woman in her late seventies living in Western Maine near the White Mountains, I find the task of clearing paths with a hand shovel difficult. But with the Snow Joe cordless shovel, I can quickly clear with ease, and keep clear, 13 inch paths from my door to the garage, the propane tank and the generator.  The cordless shovel is very easy to start and its light weight makes it easy for even an older woman to operate. I didn't expect it to be as helpful as it turned out to be.

A Life-saver

This is the best item I ever bought.  It has made my senior years so much easier. Shoveling snow was such a hassle.  It took hours.  Now I am done in half the time.  It is no heavier than a regular shovel.  Now I look forward to it snowing.  A must have for senior women who are petite. It goes thru 10 inches and slush.  Grab one now.

My new snow buddy

I can't compare this to other snow shovels since the is the first one I have owned. Previously I had a larger area and used a gas powered snowblower. I live in upstate NY and so far we have had 2 significant snowfalls. Both have been heavy, wet snow. Difficult for any machine. I clear an area roughly 15' wide and 30' long. Sure, it took a little effort but I was impressed with the power of this thing and not having a cord is well worth the additional cost. In lighter snow this thing ought to be amazing. At no time did I use even a third of the battery and the recharge time is very short. I am somewhat mobility challenged due to a auto accident, but this device is well balanced and reasonably light. It is NOT a replacement for a snowblower, but for smaller areas it's great. In wet snow, I would reccomended letting no more than 4 or 5 inches accumulate before using. Although I found that with a little patience it can handle more. Highly reccomended. Now, we'll see how it holds up, but so far, so good.

Better than expected

Nice shovel. works well. being cordless is very handy. Only complaint it was really hard to assemble, the 2 parts of the handle would not go together, I was unable to push the length of cable between them into either part, had to remove the handle from the shovel itself to get the slack cable in.

This product is according to the description of SnowJoe, the capacity is sufficient even in the hardened snow, I use it 6 or 7 times without problem, the life of the battery is sufficient for continuous use up to 45 minutes without showing a decline in revolution, the only flaw is the weight when using long. It is a very good product I recommend it. Wireless use is super nice and ergonomic

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I appreciated that snow joe cordless shovel is kinda lite and powered by a rechargeable battery. But, my snow joe didn't last 40 minutes for 2” fluffy snow. Nor did the snow fly into the air 25ft. It's just a little better than a hand shovel.

It'll throw snow really well and I was able to finish the entire driveway with a single charge, but the shovel does not get down to the concrete and leaves a thin layer of snow that still needs to be removed with a shovel; I also have serious doubts about the longevity of the plastic blades, I cringe whenever I hit uneven concrete or a stone; the handle won't stay put and I know if I torque it down I'll crack the plastic, the battery cover will not stay closed on its own as well, I will have to figure something out... velcro perhaps?

We used it for 10 minutes and it stopped working
 Snow Joe sent two more machines out before I got one that works. We will see at the next time it snows. It has a two year warantee.
