I purchased this unit with the intent of cleaning snow off a large cedar deck. I wanted something that would ensure no damage to the wood surface. This unit is all plastic. Even the replaceable scraper bar is plastic. No damage to deck surface whatsoever. First time I used it there was 16" to 18" of snow that had been setting for months. It took two passes but it did a super job. The directional shute is nice. On freshly fallen snow it would be a breeze with no effort at all. The unit does sound like a high powered vacuum cleaner. I'm very satisfied, especially due to the low purchase price.

More than expected!!

My product was delivered the day before we received 1ft of snow.  It did exactly what it was built to do.  I cleared my driveway with ease. I would have never been able to do what it did using my snow shovel due to the fact that I suffer from lower back pain.  After I was finished clearing my driveway, I had no lower back pain which to me was well worth the purchase of this machine. Not to mention the price.

Right on time!

I was very impressed with how easy this is to use and it really does move snow wicked good. Not sure how it will do with really heavy snow, but after we got 8-12 inches of snow it went through it good. I did have to cut away at the snow due to the snow being deeper than the height of the opening, but saved my back from trying to shovel.

This model is easy to use, does a GREAT job at removing a lot of snow with no more effort than just walking behind it. I use it to do my front & back walks & 100' driveway, then go do my next door neighbors! I was pleasantly surprised how well this blower works.

Great Little Snowblower...

Small, not expensive (140$)..DOES THE WORK. I used it the first time after a 30cm snowstorm... works great. 
Its electric so not polluting much... buy a 100ft electric cord and you will be fine
Not quite suitable for icy snow...

A nice little beast

Very easy to assemble and use. This machine has power to move some snow. It easily handled two snowfalls of five inches and more with drifting. It will go until you run out of cord. It cleans all the way to the surface so there really is no need for ice melt afterwards.

A Must Have

J'ai acheté la souffleuse sj617e au début de l'hiver et je trouve qu'elle répond parfaitement à mes besoins. Elle est pratique et légère et cette année elle a été très utile avec les grandes quantités de neige que nous avons eu. Le service à la clientèle est aussi excellent et on pris ma demande rapidement pour changer la souffleuse quand son timing belt a lâché.

Got to use this snowblower on the recent snowstorm in North Carolina.  I had to deal with a heavy wet snow up to 6" deep.  The first problem I encountered was that the chute kept popping out.  The screw keeps the chute locking tabs from rotating out, but the force of the snow would pop the tabs out.  I added additional screws and solved the problem.  The 6" heavy wet snow would only throw about 4 ft. so it took an effort to clear out.  Work at it slowly and a little at a time.  Where the snow was 2 to 3 inches it blew the snow pretty well.  Even when I lived in the snow belt of New York, my gas powered, two stage snow blower would not throw the heavy wet snow very far.  All things considered, I am quite happy with my purchase.  They should add some hold down screws for the chute though.

Better than expected

This was an excellent purchase!!! We are having a ton of snow in the last couple of weeks so it is worth it's weight in gold!! Only thing is that a lot the snow that we had already needed to be removed to give the little guy a fighting chance! Now it works perfectly!!!!

Snow Joe Corded Snowblower - 18”

It is easy to put together and lightweight. The chute on top does keep popping off though which is a problem with its design I would say it would require a better locking mechanism or more screws for the chute. It is also is not quite like some people put on here it is loud but not as loud as some of the gas powered ones.

Used for the first time, works ok but you have to keep moving back and forth. Biggest complaint is chute keeps coming off and then it just blows snow on machine. Tried multiple times but seems chute is not well designed. Only 1 screw in the back and front keeps coming off. Will be returning this as without working chute, it is useless
