Can be effective for snow removal, but may struggle with complex designs.

Does a great job removing snow. If trying to prevent ice dam, just remove the lower 4' of snow on the edge of the roof line. If already have one, keep the ice clear of snow so that it will melt.
Very light weight. However, the longer the poles are, the more that the weight becomes a factor in moving the pole around on a roof. That's pretty much unavoidable. Try to use the shortest length that you need. I did find the locks got a little difficult to unlock as I was using the pole a bit. When I was done I examined it and found that because of scraping the pole along the snow, the snow melted slightly and ran down the pole and got onto the threads of the lock and froze. So to prevent that I sprayed some silicone on to the locks and now when I tighten them down and then go to unlock them they don't give me any trouble.

I used this for leaves on my very tall shed roof.  Works great!  Will use it for snow when it snows. Wished I had this years ago. I only wish it had some  "teeth" on the end for leaves.  Would be easier to use for leaves, however, this was supposed to be for snow only.

Great Tool!

I had no difficulties putting this roof rake together.  It took under 5 minutes.  Once together, it was easy to adjust the telescoping handle and take snow off of my roof.

Easy to use, easy to put together

Best tool for removing snow from roof especially over a door. My new roof (2016) had about 6” of snow dumped on it which caused an ice dam. The water started dripping through the soffit onto my back door causing the door to freeze. My roofer told me about these snow rakes while he was on the roof clearing the snow and checking my new roof. I had to replace the screened storm door. Next time it snowed heavy I was ready. No more ice dams.

Great for removal of ice dams

Haven't used it yet it's still fall here, but compared to the one I've used for years I really like this one, it's good and sturdy, the handle slides into itself so u don't have to worry about losing an extension . The scraper part is a nice thick solid plastic but doesn't come attached and does require the assembling.  Otherwise have great hope this will last years :) ALMOST  looking forward to using it this winter but always hoping it won't need it this year lol

Roof rake

I received my Snow Joe on a Friday, and used it for the first time that Sunday.  Unfortunately, there was an issue and the unit will not collapse.  I called customer support on Sunday morning and it was pleasantly surprised to find out that it was being staffed on a weekend.  After I explained the issue, I was told to register my product online (which I had not done yet) and call back.  When I called back, I was told that the product would be replaced at no charge.  That was great - unfortunately all the snow has melted and I have not had the opportunity to use the replacement rake this year.

I bought this product to remove debris from my roof.
It works great, but it's a bit wobbly when fully extended.
Easy to assemble, takes about five minutes to assemble
it and wrench is included in box.  Good for the price.

Good product , low price.

This rake is easy to put together, but make sure you tighten the nuts well or check them after each use.  I lost one that holds one of the braces to the plastic rake head. The plastic rake seems to be less harmful to asphalt shingles than my old aluminum one. Know that it's difficult to change the length of the handle once you've used the rake as snow gets inside and freezes up the pieces that screw apart.

My new roof rake

I found the roof rake light and fairly easy to handle.  While I love the idea of telescoping sections for easy of storage, when you are raking in the cold, ice and snow, the blue plastic threaded joints freeze up.  I ended up having to bring the rake indoors to thaw it out and then lubed the joints with WD40.  That worked marginally.  At least I was able to telescope the rake back to the size I could store in the garage.  Because of the difficult operation of the blue threaded joints, I would probably not buy this rake again. Despite that operational challenges I was able to get the roof raked and saved the lower level of the house from water damage.

Got the Job Done

nice price and length.  However,  as mentioned in some  reviews  it sticks, the poles and threads. The whole idea of getting a collapsible rake is to be able to make it small to store it but if it doesn't collapse you can't.

Needs to be pregreased

One star for ease of assembling.  Otherwise it comes apart at the connections for extending no matter how tight you tighten them when pulling heavy snow.  Thinking about returning after 2 attempts to make it work.
