I didn't want to mess with gas and oil from a regular snow blower so I went electric. This snow thrower has worked very well. Even when we just had over a foot of snow, this worked well. I did smaller rows but that was just fine. I got used to the cord quickly because I have a smaller Snow Joe snow thrower that worked so well, I decided to upgrade. I do like Snow Joe products.

Extremely easy to assemble, very little to do. Extremely easy to maneuver,  lightweight to use but don't let that fool you. Generally cleans right down to ground. Have gone thru about 10" of light fluffy snow without problems & have gone thru about 5" of wet heavy snow without issues. Have used on grass, deck, patio block & blacktop & maneuvered into tight spots without trouble. Easy to lift if you have to. Works well on all surfaces & has plenty of power. Once in a while the cord gets in the way but I chose to go with "no gas, no oil" so I can easily live with that choice. By the way, I'm a 67 yr. old woman who has no trouble using this or assembling this. And, to boot, customer service is wonderful. I (probably) pulled the belt of the pully by hitting stone edging a couple of times causing a vibration when in use. Called customer service & without hesitation they sent me a brand new one before I had even sent back the original!

I have 2 gasoline snow blowers available to me.  But, being a 75 year old widow of 2 years, I decided that they were way too big and too much work to use. I live in Southern Wisconsin and, if you have been watching the  news, you know that we have had snow storm after snow storm this Winter!!!! I saw this electric snow blower on one of the online shopping channels and thought I would give it a try!!!  Best thing I've bought in a long while!  Just plug it in and GO!!! Put it together myself and away I went.  So far, it has blown fluffy snow and also some heavier wet snow.  Can't tell you how happy I am. Makes snow removal much easier for this old "Broad"!  Happy I happened to tune in on the day it was offered!!!   Thank you!!!!

Best Buy I Made in Years!

Snow Joe 22 in Electric Single -Stage  Snow Blower. This is a great product. This  is my 2nd unit I bought it for  my son.  I have been using mine  for the last three years. It does a great Job  removing snow; when the snow is  measured in inches.  When the snow is measured in feet I take out my 2 stage 30''  Troy built gasoline snow blower.

Bought this very reasonable priced electric snow blower Feb 2019. I truly was amazed at how well it worked this past winter. Handled everything from this winter. I was really on the fence about electric snow blower but after using mine on the first day all my concerns evaporated.  Just had to get used to using the cord with it but after a couple of uses it I got it down. Love the fact of the almost zero maintenance. No oil or gas to have to deal with. I recommend this product 100%

Worked like a champ!

My brother bought this product for my son because he shovels driveways for money at the age of 14 and has been doing it for a few years. We found the snowblower cut through the snow easily and got right down to the pavement. What usually took 20 minutes by shoveling now only took 5 minutes. My son has now added on 5 more customers due to being able to quickly and efficiently get the job done.

Simple to use but powerful enough to get it done,

For an electric snow blower, this is one of the best. It has decent throwing power and can handle deeper snow than many electric snow throwers while taking relatively wide swaths due to the width of the unit. Out of the box, it takes only a few minutes to assemble the handle and then it's ready to go. As a single stage unit, it can't handle heavy snow as well as a two stage gasoline powered thrower. This is my third electric. It's too early to know the longevity of this unit, but electrics don't last as long as gasoline throwers. On the positive side, they require no cans of gasoline and no oil changes.

Best electric snow thrower so far

It does the job. The machine is powerful enough to throw the snow. Even with the size it very easy to move. There's only two issues. First there gap between two parts of the chute so snow is coming out from there is you make it more horizontal. The other is there lot of vibrations. Though this can be due to lightweight body and powerful motor. But overall great machine.

Does the job well

Using this machine  is easier than shoveling the snow, which is the whole point.  It's light and easy to manoeuvre.    You're probably looking at this machine because of the price point.  I don't think it saves you any time, but it does make it easier.  You'll probably have to sweep or shovel the last little bit when you're done with the snow blower to get rid of the light snow cover left behind.

We live in Winnipeg, so the snow is usually light and fluffy.  We had a 10 to 12 cm (4-5 inches) snowfall last night.  I think this machine would have trouble with a snowfall any larger than that.

If you live in an area that gets wet, heavy snow, you might need a heavier duty machine.

The auger and handle are metal.  The rest of the machine is plastic.  There are rubber edges on the auger and a rubber scraper at the back of the machine that will eventually need to be replaced.  I'm not sure how long they will last.

The only part that I really don't like on this machine is the discharge chute.  It doesn't go down far enough, and it doesn't go around far enough towards the back of the machine.  The machine ends up making a huge cloud of snow that goes everywhere.  If you're close to your neighbour, say within 20 feet, you're probably going to have to snow blow his driveway as well because your snow will end up on his property.

It's ok.

Recently bought this, because this year's winter in Minnesota finally broke me. So far, so good. Works great and can chew through a lot--up to 8in so far. 

As other reviews note, the cord can be a pain to deal with, but for the usage I have it is manageable.

Why did I wait so long...

Only lasted two years.  Same issue as many people with safety switch/starter button housing rubbing against the power cord and stopped working.   I managed to take apart the housing to splice wires back together and then it only worked until I was half way through clearing the driveway when the auger stopped working.   Waste of money.

Don't waste your money on this.
