This machete cuts very well. I put some more edge on the blade and it slices right through stuff nicely. The handle is comfortable. This is the best size as it is not too big. This goes right on my bike and I can pull it out and chop off branches and growth that will not bother me the next time I pass through the area.
There was an entire tree that fell across a big public trail and I cleared the branches. This is good quality, comfortable and does the job well. The saw on the back of the blade has not been used yet.

We're taking back the sidewalks and trails.

This is an excellent tool.   I mainly use mine for opening coconuts.   I have an older one which I use to do yard work.   Try it you will not have any regrets!

Machete

This is a very good quality machete when you are looking for one with a more compact size. The saw on the back of the blade is not as aggressive as it could be but it still works well.

One word of caution... If you are in a hurry to receive this item, order is somewhere else. Walmart's shipping to home was ridiculously slow.

Nice Compact Machete

I purchased this to cut paths to the river, I needed a machete that would be small and portable. This tool satisfies those needs. It cut through itchweed, ivy and other tall weeds with ease. It seems well made for my purposes using it for around 10 times per year it should last a while. I tried the saw and while its no "cross cut", it makes efficient use of the blade and will work. This fits in my day pack and is fairly light. Totally satisfied, cannot comment on stitching for the sheath, it is designed well though, tough nylon.

good tool

This turned out to be a great Machete. Some of the other reviews gave it low marks because it was not an axe..it's not...it's a Machete and works great as a machete. the handle is designed fine for using either side of the blade and the length makes it perfect for putting in a backpack or in the trunk. It will cut small branches and I have used it to chop up kindling for a fire, but for clearing brush it can't be beat. That's my story and I'm sticking to it!

Great Machete

This is an excellent machete, well made, decent balance and very rugged! The steel is of a high quality and will sharpen up well. It will take a beating and handle most anything you throw at it. I would definitely recommend it to all, whether it is for clearing brush, cutting branches or for self defense, you can't go wrong with genuine SOG brand items. In fact this machete is a great compliment to the SOG tomahawk that Walmart also carries, for under thirty bucks even!!
I decided to choose this size, with the 13" blade, simply because I wanted a "smaller" unit as compared to the 19" blade that is available. I feel this size allows for more uses, greater control, more accuracy with your strikes and is much more portable. Can't go wrong and at these prices I have no complaints...(cheaper than new on eBay!)

Excellent machete, worth the time and investment!

Purchased online; was delivered in a very timely manner. Product is well worth the price sturdy and very heavy duty, great buy!

fantastic product - took it out of the box - wow is it sharp and tested it in the yard. very happy - have tested several machetes and this is by far the best -will try other SOG products soon

You can't go wrong with sog branded tools. This is a great solid machete.

great product

The machete Looks really good...nice cover, but with the first whack the blade chipped. Was cutting back ivy! After hacking away it looked like it had been used 100 times. Too cheap. I wouldn't waste my money but pay more and get something that was made to handle the job that it's name boasts of!
