I absolutely LOVE this hat for many reasons. It's waterproof, the brim covers my face, ears & neck, it's adjustable around my head and under my chin. 
I bought my first one at least 15 years ago in a store in Maine. It's wonderful for boating, hiking, beaching, walking, and anything where you need coverage from the sun. 
It's easy to wash and stands up to the test of time. 
I just bought 2 more after researching the company. You just can't go wrong. 
My old one is still in use.

I want more of these hats

I wear this hat daily for work in the field. Typically full sun all day - I have yet to get a sunburn on my face, ears, or neck (even when I forget to wear sunscreen!). It holds up really well in the wind and keeps its shape. The lanyard/strap keeps snug under my chin and this hat stays put even in 30+ mph desert winds. I love the vents on the top - they keep my head cool without sacrificing sun protection.

Fantastic sun protection for long days in the field.

I bought this hat for sun protection while hiking and at work. I like the way it breathes keeping my head from feeling hot. I have worn the same style of hat from two other manufactures and Sombriolet has by far the lightest feel on my head of the three. The brim is wide and does its job. I really like it.

Great Outdoor Hat

Bought this hat for golf. Liked it so much, I bought 3 more in different colors. I bought medium size hats. I wear 7⅜ and thought they were too small. But...I dampend the sweatbands with cold water before playing and they fit perfectly. Large would have been way too big. I've received many compliments on them. They have inside mesh and front, side & rear vents which circulate air flow. The brims don't look floppy, but retain their crisp edge. Also rain-proof. You'll love these lightweight hats. I know I do!

Best Sun Hat Ever!

I wear the Sombriolet hats everyday, and everywhere; I have several, in different colors. Strangers frequently comment about them, and ask where I bought it. I am not from this area, and went unnoticed, for several years, but that instantly changed, when I started wearing these hats. Everyone seems to know me, due to my hat; it's become my trademark. The sun, and heat, are horrendous in Northeast Texas, but these hats make it bearable. They are ultralight, comfortable, and wide-brimmed. They aren't waterproof, but they sure help, when running to the car, in the rain. They clean up easily, with Spray and Wash. The chinstrap is easily removable, and, there is noreal need for it, because there is an adjustable cinch strap on the back, to tighten the fit around your head.

This hat has made me locally famous

Since it doesn't fold up, I put this terrific sun hat at the bottom of my suitcase, underneath the rest of my clothes. My husband also has this hat, and I got the same size, a large. So, that is a consideration when ordering. It really protects from the sun and isn't too hot to wear in the heat.

A great hat for sun protection!

Perfect for beachcombing, very lightweight, breathable with good venting, well constructed. Was it the most stylish accoutrement on the beach? I wouldn't go that far, but hey, you can't have it all. I was going for function and comfort and sun-safety

Great lightweight hat, good coverage

I have 3! I love these hats when I'm going on a long sweaty hike. The sweat drains off the brim. It's great. Also, I look amazing in them. Washing them is a pain and they don't maintain their perfectly flat brim, but it's fine. Wish they would bring new colors. The red is great. The since-discontinued Lavender one goes great with some of their other clothes. Would love a purple one. Great hat.

I've had two of these and lost one. To replace it I ordered another one and sad to realize the design has been changed and it's no longer the great hat it once was. Brim is smaller so no longer protects from sun as it once did, and the logo pops out ruining the look, plus it now has ugly vents that are cumbersome. I returned it and found something else at an REI store.
