Primarily was looking for a Blu-ray player that upscaled to 4k well and to replace an ageing Blu-ray player and this machine does a fantastic job. It has brought a new lease of life to my Blu-ray discs.
First put on 'The Hobbit' and found I was seeing details I hadn't seen before. Picture was sharp and close to 4k with nice colour range and a good contrast balance. Did a good job with DVDs as well.
The build quality is nice with a smooth operation and is alot quicker to play a disc compared to my old player.
Only a couple of niggles in that the screen menu is a bit odd looking but only minor niggle. The other was that I found it wouldn't play my converted VHS to DVDs and a couple of theatre play DVDs so looks like I'll be hanging onto my old player until I find a resolve.
Haven't tried the apps much as I have them on my TV but if you want a player that upscales well this is it.

I wanted to update my existing Blu-Ray player and after considering various other makes opted for the Sony BDP-S6700 which seemed to meet all my requirements.

Great Replacement

It's small and it's capable. Nice connectivity. Not sure if I needed all the catch-up stuff on there, since it's a duplication of my TV but it you haven't then it's good for you. I didn't mind because the cost of ''tis very small unit is modest Nyhow.

Tiny unit

I needed a new Blu-Ray to be able to view photos on CD/DVD.  Since changing to Windows 10, my older one would no longer work.  It was easy to set up.  It took a bit of time to get the correct co-ordination to get the photos up and running, but all is well now

easy setup

Nice and compact. Does not take much space. 4K upscaling of DVDs are superb. However;

1) The BBC iPlayer app is outdated and does not work.

A new software update is urgently needed for catch up TV. Otherwise, this is just a Blu-ray Disc™ Player with 4K Upscaling.

Nice compact design, superb 4K upscaling

I bought the Sony - Blu-ray Disc 4 K upscaling along with a 55" 4K HDR TV, unfortunately no one informs you that your Sony 3D glasses from your last TV (4.5 years old) will not work with the new products!!!! Not happy.............

Small but big on features

Great design, small, compact, easy to use no fidily buttons easy instructions. Would have given 5 stars,- only - WHY, have a power addapter on the mains lead ? surely it could be made small enough to be inside the unit, OR it could be the mains plug itself ?.

Small & compact.

This product was very complicated to set up using a TalkTalk router because (as we eventually discovered after struggling for two days) the IPS needed to be changed to get internet connection.  Once that was sorted the product worked fine and was easy to use.

I have had this a week now and already had it lock up on me 3 times causing me to have to unplug it and plug it back in to get it working again.This seems to be a common problem with this series of players. My last one did the same thing but not when it was brand new.

Could be better

I have always been very happy with Sony products, so when my Blu-ray player did not work half the time, I gave Sony benefit of the doubt. I bought another Blu-ray from Sony and I am dealing with the same issues. we push the power button and it does not come on, we push the eject button and it does not open. We put a disc in and it says there's no disc in the player. It is very common that I have to unplug it and turn off the power to the player and then plug it back in to get it to work. Very disappointed in this bluray player!
