I had used Source back in the old days almost since it first came onto the market. My mare needed a little boost in immune support and hoof condition so I decided to revisit Source. I am very pleased that I did. My farrier noticed an increase in healthy hoof and hoof growth within two weeks after I started feeding Source to my mare. An extreme case of mud fever that she's had since I got her over a year and a half ago is showing some signs of improvement. Her overall condition is excellent. Even her winter coat is dappling. I'm not sure why I stopped using Source but it will be a regular part of my feeding program again from now on.

An Oldie But Goodie

I absolutely adore Source... have seen some really incredible changes in my horses in the first two or three months on Source. Really soft coats, bright eyes, filling out well despite no change in feed amounts... etc etc. This was my first try with the nuggets because my picky mare dumped the powder on the ground. She ate it right up! Made me a little more comfortable too, knowing it got into her.

Gotta love Source

I love this product because my horse was having some issues with nutrient deficiency and poor condition and this supplement made a huge difference! I found that a lot of soil and feeds are deficient in some minerals and nutrients and this supplement provides a good broad spectrum to cover most bases and enhance the diet for any horse. In conjunction with a balanced diet, this supplement has helped my horse maintain health and condition. She eats these pellets with no problem, and I love that I don't have to feed a powder. My horse's coat is shiny, her mane and tail are thick and flowing, and her hooves are sturdy and healthy. Thank you Smartpak!

Great mineral and micronutrient boost!

My horse was always good about eating the Source powder but I felt like there was more of the possibility of it getting stuck in his supplement containers or in his grain bucket that gets poured into his feed tub. Having pellets instead of powder prevents this problem. They smell a little fake & funny but my horse likes them & I don't worry that he might not get his full ration each time.

More expensive than the powder but worth it

I first started my mare on the Source Focus Hoof because she had cracks, and since she lives outside 90% of the time and is an easy keeper she needed a multivitamin also. After about 5 months all of the cracks are gone, she is barefoot, and I switched her to the original Source. Her hoof quality is still excellent several months later and her coat, stamina, and personality are much improved from when I first put her on the supplement. I would recommend this to anyone with an easy keeper or a pastured horse that doesn't get much grain. It did take a little while for her to get used to the taste, but she eats the original Source much better than the Source hoof.

Good Choice for Pastured Horses and Easy Keepers

Source products provide seaweed which contain concentrated micronutrients that are depleted on land. All animals and humans can benefit from blue-green algae products. I primarily give my horses Source products to provide nutrition for the thyroid, but there are other benefits too. I buy the large container of Source and it last 6 months for three horses. I've used Source Focus original, Source Micronutrients pellets, and Source Senior. I noticed recently Source Hoof contains Lysine which helps hoove and muscle health, so I will try that too. They eat all of these formulas very well. Source is green food and horses love green food! Some formulas are powder, and some are pellets, but you feed such a small amount that it doesn't matter.

Great benefit of feeding Seaweed

I have used Source Micro Nuggets most of my life. I see a dramatic difference in the quality of my horses' hooves, coat and weight once started on this product.  And it's economical to boot.

Awesome All Around Supplement

Source is a great basic nutrient mix for any horse. I have used it for years and will continue to do so.

Any horse, anywhere

I gave this three stars because I have fed it to other horses in the past with great results. That being said my current horse won't eat it. He doesn't even try to eat around it... I have to be honest he is a picky eater. So in no way does this review go against Source-but just a heads up for those who have finicky horses this might not be for them.

Horse won't eat

I liked the idea of the Source so I bought it for my horse. He wouldnt eat the power so I switched to the pellets. He eats them without a problem but I have not noticed any difference in his coat at all...slightly disappointed after reading all the great reviews on this product..might switch to something else..
