Overall, my husband and I love this dresser. There are a few problems with it though that buyers need to be aware of.

We had the same problem others have mentioned with screws going through the top board. To elaborate, when the directions call for you to screw two small pieces labeled D4 into Board A, make sure you hand screw them. I used an electric screwdriver so I think the extra power caused the screws to go through the top board. I debated whether or not to call South Shore to get a replacement for the A board but decided against it. It only happened on one side so I thought maybe it was a structural error. I tried to take a picture of the two blemishes but I can't even get it to show up on my camera, further leading me to believe that it's not that serious. Also I have my accent pieces sitting on the two blemishes so out of sight, out of mind. However, I would recommend hand screwing the boards and leaving the D4 Boards a little loose when screwing them into Board A.

I also noticed when nailing the drawer bottom in that I split the wood. This was probably my error and it only happened with 2 out of 36 nails so it wasn't that big of a deal. Plus, the split was in the back of the drawer (where no one will see) so I didn't really care. Just make sure you are very careful not to split the wood when nailing. The boards are thin so you only have so much room to get the nail in. That is the only problem I had with the drawers though and they all aligned perfectly in the end.

This dresser is very slender, in my opinion, but that is part of the reason why I love it. Even though our bedroom is pretty roomy, I think this dresser would be ideal for a small bedroom. There isn't a lot of drawer space but my husband and I also bought the corresponding 5-drawer chest so it works for us.

I know that my experience was probably good because I have experience with building furniture, specifically this brand. So far, I have built two South Shore (SS) platform beds, two SS nightstands, one SS media stand, one SS dresser, and one SS 5-drawer chest. With this in mind, I know that my opinion might be a bit biased and this might not be as easy for those unexperienced with building furniture. It is worth the money you save though and you'll definitely need two people.

The best advice I can give to those assembling this piece of furniture is TAKE YOUR TIME. There were a few times the directions had me stumped but I took my time and figured it out. As far as the board labels go, make sure you look on all four sides. It might be a little worn but it should be there. If not, label all the other boards with sticky notes and use the process of elimination.

I would definitely recommend this dresser. Even though it's a bit of a challenge, I think it's worth the money you save and the final product.

Slim and Modern Dresser

Bought this looking for a bigger dresser for my 11 year old.  Price seemed right so bought it online.  It came packaged very well, no missing pieces, and took about 3 hours to put together.  The directions were very clear and it was easy to put together.  It is very sturdy and the drawers glide very nicely.  The drawers are deep so we can fit lots of clothes in it.  We love it.

Sturdy and strong

After reading all of the reviews, I decided to buy this dresser. Both boxes arrived and they were very heavy. Assembly does take at least 3  hours and instructions were not clear at times but in the end a beautiful solid dresser. I was short some parts but customer service shipped them right out. As a side note, someone had recommended to use wood glue so I did to keep it long lasting.  It's a real nice dresser for the price.

Great buy

Ugh this was a headache to put together, i live alone so had to do this on my own, it says not to use power tools, but there would have been no way i would have put this together only using a screwdriver; you do need to be careful when using the power tool that you don't crack the wood. Overall it's ok, it's cheaply made like the rest of the collection, took me awhile to put it together and the instructions were somewhat complicated, this is definetly a two person task. I would probably buy it again because it does look nice, but it's way over priced for the quality. Also measure the space before you buy it, thankfully it fit in another area of my bedroom, but not where i origionally wanted it.

it's ok

I bought this dresser for our nursery. Other reviews stated it was difficult to put together. I would say time consuming, but not actually difficult. The pieces could be better labeled, but it wasn't that bad. At 7 months pregnant, I built half of it by myself. I had a friend come over to finish the drawers and tip it upright. Overall it took 5-5.5 hours.

This piece is actually quite sturdy, but does include a wall anchor for added safety. The drawers are fairly deep and spacious. The wood pieces were of slightly better quality than I was expecting. The only piece I wasn't thrilled with was the back of the dresser. It is basically thin cardboard, not even particle board.

Overall, I was very pleased with this purchase. It's a nice piece of furniture for a good price. I can't wait to get my baby girl's clothes organized for her arrival!

Nursery Dresser

Cute basic dresser. This takes a while to build, and is a pain to put together, but looks great once it's done. We used a power drill and it made everything fit tight and sturdy. Other reviewers were bothered by the plastic sliders on the drawers, but I wasn't. They work great, however you have to be sure to pound them in all the way (which takes some doing) or else the drawers are a tight fit. The instructions don't have words, just pictures, one of which is very confusing. However, a little common sense helps you to figure it out. The metal hardware is good, but small and basic and I'll probably switch it out for more decorative, fun knobs to give the dresser some style. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because the front of the drawers are regular sized, but once you pull the drawer out, the sides only come up part of the way, making the drawer space smaller than expected. However, it still fits all my child's clothes without any problem.

Good buy

Have put together many a "put-together" pieces of furniture over my lifetime. This one took as long as the others; however, the instructions were very good and the quality control of this company seems to be excellent as there were no missing pieces and all the parts fit together perfectly. Would recommend to those looking for a decent dresser.

Good dresser for the price!

We received this dresser 3 days after the delivery date and I even paid extra to have it delivered faster. Once my husband started putting it together, he realized the directions were only pictures and not words. It was a multiple day process. It is heavy and sturdy which I like but the drawers are very small in regards to depth.

Hard to assemble

The dresser looks very nice. All the pieces are labeled except the thousands of screws. Holes did not line up. Missing two pieces to finishing my last drawer. Once together the drawers do not fit in correctly. The top drawers hang out, dont fit all the way in. Took forever to put together so once I was done, I was not about to take it apart and send it back. Also the drawers are difficult to put together. You do have to use a power drill because the nail has to go through a plastic plug. The side rails for the drawers are made of plastic. Those will break in time.

Dresser

I would not recommend anyone to buy this because its not good quality and not worth $200 bucks.The screws weren't labeled in the bags, there are so many plastic pieces, the dresser was falling apart while I was assembling it even after I had screwed the screws in.I even had my father helping its a piece of junk don't waste your money or time.
