Overall, my husband and I love this dresser. There are a few problems with it though that buyers need to be aware of.

We had the same problem others have mentioned with screws going through the top board. To elaborate, when the directions call for you to screw two small pieces labeled D4 into Board A, make sure you hand screw them. I used an electric screwdriver so I think the extra power caused the screws to go through the top board. I debated whether or not to call South Shore to get a replacement for the A board but decided against it. It only happened on one side so I thought maybe it was a structural error. I tried to take a picture of the two blemishes but I can't even get it to show up on my camera, further leading me to believe that it's not that serious. Also I have my accent pieces sitting on the two blemishes so out of sight, out of mind. However, I would recommend hand screwing the boards and leaving the D4 Boards a little loose when screwing them into Board A.

I also noticed when nailing the drawer bottom in that I split the wood. This was probably my error and it only happened with 2 out of 36 nails so it wasn't that big of a deal. Plus, the split was in the back of the drawer (where no one will see) so I didn't really care. Just make sure you are very careful not to split the wood when nailing. The boards are thin so you only have so much room to get the nail in. That is the only problem I had with the drawers though and they all aligned perfectly in the end.

This dresser is very slender, in my opinion, but that is part of the reason why I love it. Even though our bedroom is pretty roomy, I think this dresser would be ideal for a small bedroom. There isn't a lot of drawer space but my husband and I also bought the corresponding 5-drawer chest so it works for us.

I know that my experience was probably good because I have experience with building furniture, specifically this brand. So far, I have built two South Shore (SS) platform beds, two SS nightstands, one SS media stand, one SS dresser, and one SS 5-drawer chest. With this in mind, I know that my opinion might be a bit biased and this might not be as easy for those unexperienced with building furniture. It is worth the money you save though and you'll definitely need two people.

The best advice I can give to those assembling this piece of furniture is TAKE YOUR TIME. There were a few times the directions had me stumped but I took my time and figured it out. As far as the board labels go, make sure you look on all four sides. It might be a little worn but it should be there. If not, label all the other boards with sticky notes and use the process of elimination.

I would definitely recommend this dresser. Even though it's a bit of a challenge, I think it's worth the money you save and the final product.

Slim and Modern Dresser

If you have never built furniture like this before, do NOT buy this dresser. I've had experience through the years buying pieces of furniture that I had to put together, so this wasn't all that complicated for me. The worst part was the time it took to put it together. I put this dresser together by myself and it took over five hours. When I got to the last drawer, the holes and cuts had not been put into the front piece. I called up South Shore, and no questions asked, sent me a replacement board. Took about a week to get the replacement in the mail. They were super nice and helpful. The dresser is very nice. Very nice look to it. I noticed others had commented that they made boo boos when putting theirs together. I did not have this problem. The wood did not split on me. It was easy to put together. The drawers are not very deep, but they do seem to hold a lot. The dresser itself is very sturdy.

Great value for the price!

Ugh this was a headache to put together, i live alone so had to do this on my own, it says not to use power tools, but there would have been no way i would have put this together only using a screwdriver; you do need to be careful when using the power tool that you don't crack the wood. Overall it's ok, it's cheaply made like the rest of the collection, took me awhile to put it together and the instructions were somewhat complicated, this is definetly a two person task. I would probably buy it again because it does look nice, but it's way over priced for the quality. Also measure the space before you buy it, thankfully it fit in another area of my bedroom, but not where i origionally wanted it.

it's ok

It wasn't as hard to put together as others stated. If you read the directions,  look at the pictures and take your time, it comes out nice. I've always purchased Soho products. I've assembled two full bedroom sets (beds, dressers, nightstands). The others were still sturdy and like new after almost ten years. I just wanted something for the new house. I now have platform bed, nightstand and this dresser. All assembled by me. Note: use regular hand tools. Power tools are not recommended.  
-- I took away one start because I was undecided about keeping the dresser and would not have been given a full refund if I returned it.  Other than that, I have no complaints. I am glad that I ended up keeping it.

Soho product lover

The dresser looks very nice. All the pieces are labeled except the thousands of screws. Holes did not line up. Missing two pieces to finishing my last drawer. Once together the drawers do not fit in correctly. The top drawers hang out, dont fit all the way in. Took forever to put together so once I was done, I was not about to take it apart and send it back. Also the drawers are difficult to put together. You do have to use a power drill because the nail has to go through a plastic plug. The side rails for the drawers are made of plastic. Those will break in time.

Dresser

Gashes all on top of dresser but not through the box which means the packer knew this before packing it and by the time I realized it was too late already put the thing together that literally had 100 pieces and was not going to break it down and return it when the box was torn apart from opening it

Horrible

I would not recommend anyone to buy this because its not good quality and not worth $200 bucks.The screws weren't labeled in the bags, there are so many plastic pieces, the dresser was falling apart while I was assembling it even after I had screwed the screws in.I even had my father helping its a piece of junk don't waste your money or time.

cheap material

It is not simple to put together and not very strong. My husband had to put in extra screws to hold it together.

The unit arrived well packaged. However the BIGGEST problem assembly parts are missing. The screws with plastic covering 6 missing. Its difficult to assemble with parts missing.
The parts are critical to finish assembly.
Now I will have to chase the supplier etc. 6 plastic covered screw special design cannot be bought.

It was delivered to the wrong house, even though my address is clear and in big numbers. They just dropped it off in the neighbors shared driveway when it was raining and was ran over and damaged. You cant even see the neighbors address, so not sure why they letf it there.  Otherwise would have been great. It came with a maker to color over the damaged drawers.
