[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using the continuity tester of about a month now. I have even gave the tester to my guys to use. I keep herein the something time after time. Everyone loves it. It makes it easy to trace wires by yourself are even with someone else. The results were perfect ever time. The only problem with it is that is all it does. It would be nice if you could add an inductance tester are a voltage tester with it. That way you don't have to cary more then one tool. All and all I would buy it again. With all the tools I have tried from Southwire. They are making top of the line tools.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After receiving this tester i put it right to work. I had to figure out a thermostat issue and this tester came in handy. I was able to test continuity and find the right wires to hook up. A great addition to my electrical tools.

Great little tester

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great tester.  Small compact design makes it easy to put in my tool bag without taking up too much room.  It functions exactly how it should.  I haven't had to use it to wring out wires yet but I did practice on some scrap wire and cables.  When the time comes it will be especially convenient.  It is even designed for one person use.  The remote being housed in the main unit is a notable feature.  It is an impressive design.  The only thing I would suggest would be a way to stop the leads.  Other than that it is a great device.

Great Tester

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] DO NOT USE THIS TESTER ON A LIVE CIRCUIT.  Shut off the power first.  This handy tester can be used on electrical, HVAC and telephone wires.

The remote is just awesome. For long wire runs, just connect the tester to one end of a set of two wires, and connect the remote to the other end. The tester: (1) does not light if you have the wrong wires; (2) lights up red if you have the correct wires but are reversed; and, (3) lights up green if everything is good.

The alligator probe tips are flat to allow tips to either be clamped onto a wire or be easily inserted into outlets.  All of the leads stow in the back of the tester. The remote stows in the tester as well.

The LED lights are bright and easy to see.  The audible continuity beeper is very loud.  It even comes with a heavy-duty 9-volt battery.

Two shortcomings:

(1)	I just wish it had a more rugged case so it doesn't get damaged in my electricians bag. 

(2)	I wish the leads were a bit longer.


Overall, it allows for quick and easy troubleshooting of circuits. I highly recommend this tester for the professional as well as the do-it-yourselfer.

Very Handy Compact Tester

Purchase this over a year ago tools been very helpful and tracing wires. Determine which wires have continuity quickly saving time on repairs.

Works exactly as expected.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this tester to make it easier to trace wires. And it does that very well. I was thinking from the package you would be able to trace 2 wires at the same time, but one of them has to be a known wires or you would be tracing for days, so I jut use the on my black set, clip my red to the wire in question the go out to the junction box and start looking for the wire, it works real well I am very happy with it.  I do wish it had some sort of wire management built in to wrap the leads up but it's not too bad.

Ezzy to use

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Overall, this is a good tester but a little lacking in how it feels in your hands. It feels a bit 'cheap'. Yes, its a good, decent tester but needs to be a little heavier and have a more 'solid' feel. i know this sounds silly but i am afraid it will break if dropped it in a pre-construction environment. I do a lot of Installs and wire testing in pre-construction areas ans I need tools that are sturdy and rugged. i also would like to see a RJ11 jack added to it for quick and easy low voltage network cable testing without having to break out another tester from my bag.

overall a good tester

This is a great, simple little continuity tester. I like this one better than the other popular tester because of the way the remote end differentiates between correct and incorrect polarities. It's an invaluable tool when checking conductors over distances when you don't have a coworker to help.

The downside...it's not very sturdy. It's not very reliable. So far I've personally experienced about a 50% failure rate with short term use. The remote end seems to go bad for no reason. Our QC crew has gone through about a dozen, and I think 6 are still working fully after several months. 

Replaceable leads on both the main and remote would be great, but more reliable internal components would be better.

Great little tester, could be tougher
