I like this because once it is plugged in to my laptop and bound to my DX6i I can use my transmitter without cables. 
I had to look up how to bind though, as there were no instructions.  There is a button on the end that you have to hold pushed as you plug it in to a USB port. The unit then starts flashing just like a receiver would. Next hold up the training switch on the DX6i as you turn it on and it will bind in a few seconds and the unit light stops flashing.
Once bound, you can turn the transmitter on and off without removing the unit from the computer and it remains bound.
