I love to live bait fish! I got the 4500 for bass fishing and I love it. It's EZ to set up.
I mainly fresh water fish and this is my favorite reel. I plan on getting 3 more of the 6500 for my catfish rods. I know I won't regret it. If you like mess with the drag this reel is a must have.

I only use my spinning rods a couple of times a year, which makes it hard to justify the high dollar, high end products. I went with the SportFisher last year off a recommendation, and have been exceptionally happy. The 8500 has no issue with yellowfin on poppers, or drifting live bait. I just recently acquired a 7500 size model, and it easily took 500 yards of 40 lb braid. I ended up deep dropping it at a depth of right at 1,000 feet, and it worked perfectly. Very pleased with this product, I can't imagine anyone not having this in their arsenal.

Incredible for the money

Ok this is the first spinfisher I ever owned. I must say Walmart shipping is excellent!! Next, the reel photo is misleading, if you look closely, this reel photo has the drag adjustment at the reel bottom,, this reel does not have that. The drag adjustment is on top of the reel spool, just the way I like them. Anyhow, I was amazed at the weight and the bale sturdiness. This reel is made to take abuse from fish. I love the holes in the spool allowing you to know what yardage you have just put on in line. I have some Peen Fierce reels, and this reel blows them away. For other fishermen, I have this on a 7 foot, medium heavy rod with fast action, I use this rod and reel for walleye and occationally get mixed up with 30-35 inch pike. This reel is superb for them. Will be excellent for 8-10lb cats as well as white bass and largemouth. I would not recommend it for 50 inch musky as well as it would be way to much for 8-10inch rainbow.

first 4500series I owned

I have replaced all of my older SS and Slammer series reels on the boat with the new Spinfisher V series. They are tough as nails and will take the abuse that my clients dish out. The drags are what I have come to expect from a big game reel and the handles are beefed up to take any abuse. I even deep drop with the 10500 to depths of 750 feet and have no problem with Snowey grouper, Tile fish, and Barrel fish. The Tarpon to 150 are a regular fish on the 7500 as are Amber jack to 115 pounds..

Tough enough for Charter work

I'm on the water 180-200 days a year, my clients are extremely hard on reels. The spinfisher reels have performed flawlessly, they have held up to the test. From snook, redfish, and cobia to 180lb tarpon over and over!

I bought this for catching flatheads in the Ohio river and I love everything. The only thing I don't like is how hard the live liner pulls when it's all the way down, and it's quiet. I'd give 5 stars if the live liner pulled easier.

Just replaced my old 7500 with new Spinfischer V and love it. A bit heavier but love the fact that it is sealed. Dropped it in the surf and no problems. Cleaning is a breeze!

Durable, reliable as are most Penn products!

This reel handles big fish after big fish without issues! It makes my job as a guide much easier knowing my clients have a great reel in their hands.

Great performance

I bought the 6500 & 3500 for travel to Cabo and The Keys. Both perform as expected and would definitely recommend. Also, have a 5000 Battle 2 on a 10ft surf travel rod. All are a great choice for inshore and offshore angling.

Great reels

I am very pleased with the quality of my PENN Spinfisher V Live Liner. In the past I've lost too many Bull Redfish by trying to tighten my drag while they were making their run. PROBLEM SOLVED !  One turn of the rell handle and the main drag kicks in , giving me the edge to battle and land these trophy size fish.

QUALITY & RELIABILTY COMBINED
