Embrace mind-blowing moments as you’re pulled deep into the many worlds of Split Fiction, a boundary-pushing co-op action adventure from the studio behind 2021 Game of the Year Winner It Takes Two. Mio and Zoe are contrasting writers – one writes sci-fi and the other writes fantasy – who become trapped in their own stories after being hooked up to a machine designed to steal their creative ideas. They’ll have to rely on each other to break free with their memories in-tact, working together to master a variety of abilities and overcome diverse challenges while jumping between sci-fi and fantasy worlds in this unexpected tale of friendship. Split Fiction is a unique action-adventure experience that keeps you on the edge of your couch with unexpected moments. One minute you’re taming adorable dragons and the next you’re fighting as cyber ninjas, escaping terrifying trolls, or dodging hover cars thrown by a robotic parking attendant. It’s weird, it’s wild, and it’s designed to be shared. Grab your co-op partner and get ready to overcome any obstacle thrown your way.

Game Card Inclusion

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Really satisfied with the price and the gameplay is one of the coolest co-op games

walmart.com

Amazing game. Finished it during the Christmas break with my son. We both loved the game a lot! Even better than It-takes-two!

I have already heard of parents yelling at thier kids for losing the physical game, and buying a second copy only to find out that its only sold as a code in a box, there has never been a physical release.

The game is great, its got coop, parents can play with kids for hours, its on all platforms, and its just awesome to have a genre of games that works like this one does.

BUT this is just the code in a box for downloading the game. They never put this game on an actual cartridge for Nintendo Switch 2, which is what I was expecting to purchase because the front of the package doesnt have the awefule white band warning that it could be a key-card game. There is all kinds of hate about key-card games, which dont have any game data on the cartridge, and cause you to download the game from Nintendo servers and store it on your switch just like a downlaoded game.

The packaging for key-card games has huge 1-inch tall warning labels spanning across the entire the bottom front of the case/box, but at least those games are often $10-20 cheaper on average than full MSRP games price regularly $59.99-$79.99, and key-card game cartridges can be resold after playing letting the next owner enter the key-card code online and downlaod the game, locking out the original owner from playing, but acting closer to owning the full game on cartridge. than a straight up one time use game code.

Meanwhile, this game is a code in a box at full MSRP. It has no resale value, no physical kart for ownership, and the biggest problem: nowhere near the visual warning on the packaging. Is it on there? Yes, in text over the ESRB rating. Compare that to the insaely alrge waring on the Key-Card game cases, and you can see the frustration on paying more for less, you feel duped. For the price I paid, better games have been made a key-card game for less. The price should have been even lower, and the code in a box should have as big a label, if not bigger than what key-card games get.

No physical game, code in a box only

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Was expecting a physical game card and not a download code.

The game itself is brilliant but I left only three stars for this code-in-box version because the download size is ENORMOUS. 75 Gbs! Thats about ten time bigger than the average high quality switch game. Definitely get the game card if you can so you're not taking up such a huge chunk of your storage space.

Good but HUGE download size

The case was empty and contained a code for a digital download. This is so misleading, I wanted to play this game with my partner and we opened it up and were so disappointed, had to wait hours for it to download. Then we got it to download and it requires TWO sets of joycons, this was not indicated ANYWHERE on the box!! I'm so annoyed with the game at this point.

Not physical game. Needs two sets of joycons.

The game is fun so far and in itself a 4 or 5/5, but the fact that the "physical" edition is just case with a digital code inside of it feels intentionally deceptive and wasteful. Maybe I'll find a use for the case, but I'm sure most are going straight to landfills.

Additionally, the game is 70 GB in size, which for reference is about 3x the size of most of the larger 1st party Switch games. Make sure you've got the space, particularly if you haven't yet picked up one of the pricey SD cards the Switch 2 requires for extra storage.

"Physical" not really physical, but fun game

no actual gamecard

Sold as a “physical” game by Walmart yet no game card included. Just a piece of paper inside the “physical” box with a download code. Very deceptive and worthy of a class action lawsuit.

Not a “physical” game card - Deceptive Advertising

Misleading description. Just a download code. Not „physical“ memory card.

Just download code
