it's pretty stout. The bungee cord didn't work. I have a 150hp and it wouldn't wrap around it so I used a ratchet strap. I extended it out to about 48 ". There is about an inch of travel where the rod inserts into the angle you mount on the trailer. I will probably drill a hole and insert a pin to get rid of the play.  I haven't towed with it yet. overall pleased with it.
