Box and product arrived well packaged. Uncoiled the shrink-wrapped mattress and let the air escape on its own. Returned after an hour %26 the mattress had taken form. You could speed up the process by cutting open the side, use scissors don't use an X-Acto knife in case you puncture the mattress.
The mattress itself is firm, and maybe a little firmer than I would've liked but since it was for a 12-year-old, they won't know the difference. Anyway, most mattresses soften up overtime so if you end up buying a medium-type mattress it will get too soft. Not good for your back and horrible for sitting on the edge.
All in all this product is great for the price point, if purchased on sale, so I will be purchasing another one for myself.
