Performance On Paper

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My kids loved these watercolor pencils! Even as an adult, I found these enjoyable to use. The pigmentation is strong despite being a watercolor pencil, and they offer a nice variety of colors in the package. Even while coloring somewhat heavily, they don't need to be sharpened frequently. Lastly, they sharpen nicely when needed and you don't end up losing a bunch of the pencil in the process.

One thing my kids mentioned they wish was different was to have a circular shape instead of triangular but that's just personal preference.

Great watercolor pencils

Staedtler

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have an artsy 7 year old who I thought would enjoy these. We colored a rainbow with the pencils and went over the pencils with a wet paintbrush. We did not have water color paper so we used lightweight cardstock. Overall we liked them, but at her age I think she prefers just watercolor paints. I think more advanced artists who understand blending and drawing would appreciate this product a lot!

Neat product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These watercolor pencils by Staedtler are amazing! They color very smoothly! They leave behind the expected color and look great! They can also be lightly dampened with water to blend out the pigment to your desired effect!

Great color and multiple uses

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We absolutely love these! My daughter is getting more into art and these are beautiful and easy for her to work with. The color is a gorgeous light wash of color, true watercolor pencils and they're comfortable to use. Super excited to see what she's able to create with these and I'm open to purchasing more in the future!

Beautiful watercolor pencils!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These watercolor pencils are a game changer!! I got these for my daughter to use for school and I tried them out for my review and I'll buy nothing else! They are great for both wet and dry but there performance for wet is what they are for. They handle very well and are nice and strong unlike other colored pencils.

High quality watercolor pencils

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The grip is amazing on these. They are triangle shaped which really helped with the grip! I did have to push harder for the pigment depth(sharpness) I wanted and these really held up. The lead did not break so they are made strong. They are similar in weight to map pencils with no dust left after coloring. I did not notice any smearing and because of this I will be using these in my classroom when I am teaching social studies.

Easy to hold and great color quality

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These watercolor pencils are everything I expected. You draw and color just like a typical colored pencil and once you brush over with water it resembles a water colored painted picture. In my image I just used computer paper. A thicker multimedia paper would have worked better. It's an easy way to make a little art!

A Simple Way to Make Art

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was honestly surprised by how smooth these pencils felt. They went on the paper really nicely, and while the colors looked light at first they are still very pigmented if you add a little more pressure.
Once I activated them with water, they blend together beautifully. The colors softened really well and were easy to work with making it simple to build nice gradient and smooth shading.
One tip I give is to start with a light hand. It's much easier to build up your darker shadows after adding water and letting the paper dry than it is to remove too much pigment.
The only downside I noticed is that regular paper doesn't handle the water very well, obviously, after a while the surface starts to peel and the texture gets little rough. I definitely recommend using watercolor or mixed media paper if you plan on using these watercolor pencils, or well activating them with water. If you plan to just use them as regular color pencils any paper will work fine.

Work well!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] All of the pencils came very sharpened out of the box (except for one) which was amazing!

They are smooth to color with, however, you do need to put some elbow grease if you want the colors to really stand out. I would say they're a good starter coloring pencil, hence the 4 stars!

The color variety was great as well, all the traditional colors :)

Starter Pencil

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The colors are nice and bold and go onto paper smoothly. Building color isn't hard as you just go over it a second time. The coloring material itself is very strong and doesn't break like some other pencils of less quality. The only downfall to these is that the outside of the pencil is a bit slippery making your fingers slide down while coloring it once in a while.

Bold and beautiful
