I am 64 and wanted something that would strengthen my legs and give a little cardio, and this is perfect for that. I have had a regular treadmill, and they are too big and too loud. This one is small and quiet. Plus, I think the manual treadmill gives a more natural simulation of walking. It was very easy to put together, and I have found the belt to be fairly smooth. Yes, it isn't like an electric one, but it's not supposed to be. I am only 5' 1", but my husband is 6 ft, and it is a little small built for him. He is hunched over when holding the handlebars, so it kind of hurts his back. But it's perfect for me! The first one I got, the fitness meter didn't work. I called customer support and they were very nice, but told me the parts I needed were on backorder for at least two weeks. They suggested I just order a new one and return the defective one, which I did. Walmart is the best for returning stuff! So, if you are looking for something to just get you moving and replace walking outside, this one is great!

Exactly what I wanted!

This treadmill is very easy to assemble, easy to use, and easy to fold up and move. I used to have a regular electric treadmill. I like this better. I am not "chained" to one spot and I can vary my walking speed without changing settings. Exactly what I wanted.

Just what I wanted

I looked at some other reviews for manual treadmills and they complained about it being too short so that is why I got this one. I am 5'9" and if this was any shorter it would definitely not work. This works great! I have a gym membership but use this when I just don't feel like driving to town (I live out in the boonies). Hang on because it definitely works you harder than a motorized one (you can't stay on if you don't hang on). I guess because you have to make it work. For the money you just can't beat it. It was easy to put together and shipping was only a couple days (free shipping).

Great for a budget

Product is just as advertised. Only wish is that the handle bar could be adjusted up or down. I am just beginning, so the incline was a little too steep - I did as others I read about and lifted the back up ( put flat bricks under the legs) - seems to do the trick for now.

Great exercise for a beginner

I purchased this type treadmill because it was one of the few I could get into my home with no help. I am a slight 50+ woman and put this together in about a half hour. I would like to be able to walk without the incline at times but you can't have everything, especially for the price.

for what it costs it's worth the price. There is only one issue that I have with it as compared to one that has a motor. you have to hold on or it will take you backwards. you don't have to grip too tight, but you do have to grip. you could say though that having to do that you have to use the muscles in your arms, and it makes your arm muscles stronger. I didn't want to spend a lot so this worked out just fine. also the speed monitor shows the things you want like how long you have been on and how many calories that you have burned. it was a decent buy in my opinion.

I am a 66 yr old women. I put this together easily myself. The frame is sturdy, but one of the wiring connections for the calorie counter was broken when I opened the box. The tread itself slides too easily and it can't be used in a level position, so I was constantly fighting to stay up strait. I will be returning this.

Hurts lower back

Easy to assemble. Great for small apartments with its folding capabilities. Simple montior for distance, speed, time, and calories burned. A little awkward to walk on because I am 6' tall and the handle bars do not adjust in height. Other than that this is an overall good product for the price.

very convenient the way it folds up so you can tuck it away, but not a smooth walk, very jerky until you get used to it. i originally wanted a flat treadmill and this isn't it so under the back i put some boards to raise it to make it more flat to walk. I find that to make it work half way decent, I have to walk on my tip toes instead of the normal flat foot walking which means the work out isn't very long.

I have server COPD and I thought this would help me get my leg muscles back to shape. But the belt you walk on is to loose and I would fall instead of walk. 
I'm very disappointed in it. I like to send it back but I don't have the box!!!
