[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was a favorite book of ours growing up and I'm so pleased to find it again for one of my nanny babies. So many children's books these days sacrifice good storytelling in favor of rather heavy-handed messages, or attempt to be "funny" in a way that's more random than clever. "Stand Back" is just a good giggle for the little sprouts with a rhyming cadence they love and comical yet beautifully drawn illustrations.

Old-fashioned fun

This was a favorite for our three children and is fun for adults to read. Parts become easily memorized and I let kids fill in phrases at times.
