I appreciate the accuracy of Stanley tape measures. My wife and I we're hanging a mirror, and she was using the tape measure while I held the mirror for way longer than necessary. She said, “it's three little black lines past where it says 24 inch number.” And you know what? It was actually three little black lines past the the 24 inch number. We successfully hung the mirror on a nail that didn't hit a stud. I suggested that we use a proper mirror hanging device, but she said that she's used a nail before and it worked just fine, so I did not protest. I just wanted to get back to watching football in peace. So far, the mirror remains suspended on the random nail we found in a drawer. In other news, I have successfully commanded my forces from my Stanley walkie talkie for many years. The antenna can always be counted on to deploy and retract quickly, and works from any radio frequency designated by a little black line.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had one of these banging around in my pickup forever. It is my backup tape. I use it those few times I need a tape but didn't bring one. Great to throw in the pocket and take into the store when you need to measure something, or when you are doing something and need a tape it is quick to go get from truck and doesn't tack up space. 
The metal case means it will be around forever. My father in law (plumbing contractor), used to carry one of these 12 footers on his belt wherever he went, even to church on Sunday, with it's small size you don't even know it is there and have a tape at hand at all times.

Great small classic tape measure.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been using this 12 ft tape for over a month in place of my other 2 tapes. It's now my go to tape. It's more compact yet the measurements are large and clear. It built sturdy. You pull it and it holds making measurements easy. I 12ft is plenty for woodworking. I don't to put it down clips on easy and not too heavy to keep in my apron. Definitely worth it.

This tape is great for checking machine setups.  The PowerLock gives you easy one hand use. Easy to read makes quick work out of checking bearing and shaft dimensions. Great for use in fabrication and quality control checks. Small, lightweight, pocket size and built with quality.  This tape measure gets used daily in an industrial maintenance setting and hasn't let me down. Highly recommend this, especially because everyone keeps trying to borrow mine!

Easy to carry around and no wasted material. Very pleased with the performance of this product. Would recommend for anyone needing a high quality tape measure.

Sturdy and compact

My first one was yellow, and I loved it. perfect size to leave on your hip all day. Measurement are in fractions and Decimals of 0.1 along the whole tape, 0.02 along the first 6". On my third one going on 10 years of daily use at my job. They seem to all come in silver now.

Great basic tape measure.

I've used the 33-272 for years in machine shops.
I recently purchased a new 33-272 as my last original was worn beyond readability. The modern 33-272 tape is a lightweight piece of chrome plated junk. There's more metal in the clip than the case itself. This particular item weighs much less than the original and I'm unsure of it's quality.
