The Stanley FATMAX 10-778 Retractable Knife has an ergonomic design for ease of use. The blade wiper removes excess dirt while protecting the knife. Soft touch panels/grips allow better control resulting in fewer slips. The blade clamp eliminates blade wobble and offers more control. The pop-up blade dispenser allows for easy access and fast changeover. No tools needed in order to switch the blade, the push-button lets you change with ease.

Once I figured out how to replace the blades (the instructions were minimal at best), it's a pretty handy tool and wasn't super pricey.  I'd order it again if needed.

Haven't changed the blade since I bought the knife but then... I kept looking till I found a Ytube video on how to.  Obviously, it's easy to pull the blade out simply by pushing the red button and letting the blade fall out.  I was jaw-dropped when I saw the guy simply push the new blade in till it locks!  THAT is how easy it is to change the blade.  You do not even need to depress the red button, just push the new blade it till it locks (might need a jiggle or two).  Yes, should have included that instruction.  It is the easiest blade change of any knife.  Glad I was not the only who struggled :)

This little tool made Christmas cubicle decorating a breeze.  I know it will come in handy around the house too.

Completely worthless.  This is probably the 20th review complaining about inability to open it, replace blade, etc.  Do not waste your time on this.  Even Stanley's responses just say "we'll be reaching out to you."  What about the rest of us?  Can you not post instructions or send documents?  What a poor design.  Should be discontinued. I'm returning mine unused because it's inoperable.

DO NOT BUY

I had to take it apart to change the blade. I purchased it because it was supposed to be easy. The blade comes out but good luck getting a new one in. Poor design. I have had easier blade change with much cheaper knives. This makes me have doubts about purchasing any products from Stanley in the future.

I bought the knife about 1 month or 2 ago and without instructions I could not work out how to install the blade.  The most stupid design idea ever! Seriously, you guys need to take this unit off the market and rethink your marketing strategy.  I am so peeved off that I will NEVER buy one of you u-knives again.

Really dump design

Why is it that these knives will not hold the blade and keep it from slipping right out.  I have bought my last one ! Do the people who design these knives not ever use them for anything more that cutting cotton balls.  Iv'e had plenty of these and they all do the same thing.  They allow the blade to just slide out when you put some real   pressure  on them like cutting the drywall along the jamb of a door .   I can't stand poorly made hand tools.  Sorry Stanley but this knife is going in the trash.

frustrating

The first time I used this the blade ejection assembly jammed after a day's use, so I returned it and got another one.
That one jammed because they put the stupid plastic display card inside the assembly and when I cut that off, a piece o0f the vinyl remained inside, so it was unusable. So I took it apart, but Stanley provides no info anywhere on how to reassemble it--it's not obvious or easy. My Dad used Stanley tools in the 50s, and I followed, but they're made in Thailand now--we're done!

Not Recommended

Junk. The loading design is cool, and would be really handy IF it worked. But the blades don't lock in correctly and cutting anything of substance cause the blades to get stuck and need a pliers to pull it out and try again. I own several utility knives and this one is now in the garbage.

Worst design ever. The red button to open the storage case does not work. You have to fight to get it to get it to release. With shape blades inside you do not want to struggle to open it. Very dangerous.
