The product works well for a post mounted gate latch and the supplier delivered it very quickly. I am happy with this purchase which was a replacement after many years or wear and tear supporting a heavy iron gate for a driveway.

I build fences for a living and used to use these post-mount latches all the time. But since they've went cheap and started making the latch mechanism out of thinner material and the striker out of thin hollow piece of pipe I will not install these anymore. It won't even function like it's supposed to, it will just bend the first time the gate is closed. There's no way to put a warranty on your work using this product anymore. Furthermore there was no change in package design or price on the shelf, I was just completely blindsided and left hanging with a junk product that had to be uninstalled the same day it was installed. Obviously they take no pride in there products anymore.

The aesthetic is great and the latch is fine, but as many others have said, the bolt breaks from use and wind. Unfortunately, we bought two of these and wasted our money. Find something else.

Weak Bolt

I own a fence company. We use these on all our fences. The post used to be solid. Now it is hollow and bends every time the gate closes. I have to make my own posts for each latch. Bad quality decision.

Cheap and bends easy

I might as well add to the 1 star reviews.  The latch mechanism works fine, but the hallow bolt is absolute garbage.  First time we got wind it bent, second time we got some wing is completely snapped where it goes flat for the screws.  Do not respond that you take pride in manufacturing quality products like you have with others.  Making junk is bad enough, but give me a flat out lie is unacceptable.  Guess I'm headed to the hardware store to buy another latch.

Junk Product

I have two of these latches on my fence and I really like the latch, it is robust and smooth, however the bolt is hollow and has a weak point where it goes flat to be screwed into the gate. If the gate blows shut or is not carefully and gently closed, the bolt easily bends and breaks. The bolt should be solid. Otherwise a brace should be sold with this latch to secure the thick part of the bolt against the gate. I wanted to give it more stars...

Bolt has design flaw

old style was the best, the new style is junk .I can bend with my hand .I Have used the old style for 20 years the best .I am a fence contractor in Wilmington nc ALL-SCREWS FENCE &DECK.  Please return the old style !!!!
