This inexpensive gadget fit but didn't work. I called the manufacturer, who explained that it will only work if the keyboard was built to be used for either type of connection. According to the company, a lot of keyboards were built back when USB was first replacing the PS/2 plug-in, and people needed to be able to easily connect a given keyboard to a computer with either type of connection. In other words, the "problem" was inside the keyboard I wanted to plug in, not in my computer or in the converter.

So, do you know whether your keyboard will work with a USB converter? It might be worth the savings to you to buy this for two bucks and find out. Add in the three-day wait for it to arrive at my Walmart, and i wish I'd sprung for a fifteen-dollar keyboard i culd have taken home the same day.

The adapter did not work connecting my older HP key board to my new slim line table to HP computer. New computer works mostly with USB type not PS/2.   Upon connecting the two the key board had no life.  As if it was not even connected.  Live and learn.

I bought this to connect my nice Microsoft keyboard, with PS2 connector, to my new computer that has only usb ports.  This item did not activate my keyboard I'm sorry to say.   I'm not sure why this happened, but I am unable to use my older, favorite keyboard, using this adapter.

I agree with the first reviewers assessment. It certainly is NOT clear that this is a replacement adapter for a adapter that shipped with a KB.. Waste of money and not worth returning.

It was supposed to work out of the box, it did not. Upon plugging it into the port, it read "last usb device plugged not recognized" or something like that. The ad where I bought it didn't say anything about this. I am returning it.

Doesn't work.   Tried it with two different Windows PC's and three different PS2 keyboards.

The keyboard worked on my old Win 7 computer, when I bought a new Win 7 computer and needed an adapter I bought this and the new Win 7 computer doesn't recognize it.

Didn't work on new computer

Product has great potential. Unfortunately the one I received did not work with my MS PS/2 keyboard I just used in my PS/2 computer. Had to return it to a local Walmart for a full refund. It cost me the price of the product in gasoline to return it. I'm not happy about that!
