Since I still use PS2 KVM, I've tried a number of PS2--USB adapters.  The Startech USBPS2PC is the most reliable I've seen.  It works with most Win and Linux systems, even when operating at the BIOS level.

I now have two of these on different computers. They are great for systems with motherboards that do not include two PS2 connectors for keyboard and mouse.

Reliable adapter

We have had good experience with this item for several years.

Works as advertised with both Windows XP and Windows 10 Pro.

It appears in the Windows 10 Device Manager (View: Devices By Connection) as a USB Composite Device, with keyboard and mouse connected to it.

The 2 PS2 connectors are marked with keyboard and mouse icons, but you can ignore that.  Plug your keyboard and mouse into either of the 2 connectors.

I'm using one of these on my new computer 'cause my favorite keyboard and mouse are both PS2. Plus, it frees up 1 USB port.

Works as advertised

The adapter simply works. The operating system need not load for it to work. I could access BIOS set up using my PS2 keyboard attached to the adapter.

I did not need adapter for mouse. I already had USB mouse.

Useful product

RadioShack told me that this adapter absolutely did not exist.
Wal-mart has proved them wrong...again.
I found this product to be exactly what Wal-Mart said it was and was actually of better quality than what I expected for the price. It worked perfectly and even arrived long before the scheduled delivery date.
This is definitely a WIN for Wal-Mart.

I have been in computers for years and this is the first computer that was entirely usb and all I own are ps2 mice and keyboards works fine.
