Got tired of trying to make "real" Hershey's fudge without using a candy thermometer.
Now I can make perfect fudge and and other confections.
Good deal, seems made very well and I think every kitchen should have one.

I purchased this to make my family homemade doughnuts. Temp is important. There is a range of 360°-375° to fry them. This thermometer MAY be 5° off reading it a little higher. However, unsure, as the doughnuts all cooked fine even when the temp changed up and down 5°. I just made sure it read 375° when I started. I used a big pot, not a deep fryer. I like the product a lot. The  rubber gauge cover is nice. Make sure you READ any instructions from product or recipe in regards to how far in to put probe, and cleaning.
I ordered a red one to match kitchen; received blue.

Great purchase; except wrong color

I really like this thermometer, it works great, I love the little clip for holding it on the side of your pan. Easily adjustable for deep or shallow pans.

Starfrit Candy/Deep Fry Thermometer

This is an accurate, useful device. It would be improved by having a movable marker to set the temperature you want to bring your liquid to. Otherwise, it is a good tool.

I received this thermometer today, was so excited, wanted to make a batch of fudge with it, it didn't work the first time I used it, almost burned my fudge..so disappointed, it was brand new out of the package, had never used it...it went to a certain temperature and stayed there..I would not recommend this product.

Totally inaccurate. My meat thermometer gives a better reading! This one reads 150 when it's clearly been above 200 degrees for several minutes. Useless
