Not many remakes are good. This was excellent. The original is better but the remake is right up there with it! You will not be disappointed!

It is refreshing to see movies remade that are good. I loved the original and now I have both for my DVD collection.

Big fan of the first Steel Magnolias with Sally Fields and Julia Roberts > I can say that I enjoyed this one with Queen Latifah, Alfre Woodward and Phylicia Rashad just as much if not more.

Much different from the first one with Julie Robertson and other stars.

This is the first time I've seen this movie. I thought it was very good.

Steel Magnolias (2012)

Wow,  was I disappointed with this remake.. So many stellar actors and actresses (except Shelby she was horrible) you would think this would have been half way tolerable.. NOT! 

We were so disappointed.. Dvd was given to us.. We watched about 30 minutes then turned it off,  we tried to donate it to our club house library,  but was told "no thanks"! In the end we left it by the mail boxes took three days before it was taken.  

Why mess with a classic?
