This is ingenious. I have a metal ball on my dash about as big as a marble. On the back of my phone case, a magnet about the size of 2 quarters. The phone is attached or detached in 2 seconds. Compare this to an unreliable suction cup connected to a big ugly mechanical arm and some type of spring-loaded phone cradle. The Steelier wins hands down.

Steelie is the only way to go when it comes to a phone mount in your vehicle, heck anywhere you need one actually! the magnet is super strong, the 3M sticker is super strong, there is just nothing bad about it!

Been using these for years now, wouldn't bother with any others

Stuck like glue

Needed a simple, low profile solution to mount a radio mike next to and behind the shift lever in a center console that also did not interfere with the e-brake lever. Looked at several options at Overland MW that required a base, arm, adaptor base and finally the mount that would have stood significantly higher than the shifter. This works as I envisioned and has just the strength needed.  It can also be moved around on the ball if necessary to keep Mike out of the way...

I've had several other dashboard phone holders and they were all mostly awful:  some popped off the dash, others wouldn't hold the phone at the right angle, or the phone would pop out.  Problem solved with the steelie - it stays exactly where you put it, and you can adjust the phone to any other angle.  I badly need a new phone, but wasn't going to get one until I could get a steelie magnet for it.  So happy they came back in stock!

Make sure you have a flat space to put your mount on the dashboard and the back of the phone. My Phone is a 5c, not as big as some phones, and it covers the heater fan speed switch. The Equinox dash had, almost,  no flat areas , but Silverado did. Had to buy a full kit and a half kit for two vehicles.

Good near excellent.

I bought this to mount my iPad mini on the yoke of my airplane. The magnet held strong from separating but it slid around on the ball if not perfectly centered or with any bumps. Unfortunately this was not the solution I was looking for.

Unable to mount and use. I have a 2012 Dodge 1500 pickup. There is no place on the dash to mount the ball that does not severely block important functions. I had purchased this due to a newly acquired used Mustang that had the mounted ball already. I mostly use the truck with the Mustang as my sunny special day driver.
