Strong, stable magnet. Since the newer phones have cordless charging, this is a great fix for not being able to permanently affix the magnet on the phone.

I love this mount.  The magnet is small enough that it does not look obnoxious when the phone mount is not attached and the ability to move the mount to the angle needed is great.

Best mount!

I have 3 mount kits. I find them highly functional. I will always look for this product for my phones. The clamp and magnet are the most efficient system.

Best phone mount ever.

I have tried many car mounts and this by far has been the best. It has a sturdy clip that actually will stay mounted on the vent, so many others have tried and just end up sliding down. I have the iphone 7plus (pretty heavy phone) and the Freemount vent kit has no problem gripping the phone and holding it upright. I am able to connect my navigation through bluetooth and have my phone in my sight so I don't have to look down at my lap anymore while driving. Love this product and it has become a staple of my drive to work and even on my adventures!

Solid product that actually does what it promises!

Nite Ize

After six months of daily use holding an iPhone the plastic peg securing the unlocking arm sheared off. It's simply not up to the task of handling constant torquing. This is a bit of a design flaw and a metal peg should be considered in future. I have submitted a warranty request and have no doubt NiteIze will send a replacement as their customer service is top notch. Though I prefer the universal nature of the Freemount, I'd probably suggest the stick on magnet to a friend. However, it seems like an easy fix for future designs and an otherwise well designed and durable product.

I had bought two of the spring loaded FreeMount Kits for my 2 vehicles.  One was a Dash mount and the other a vent mount.  The Dash Mount works Great!  However the Vent mount does not work well.  It doesn't matter where I position the vent mount it slowly moves down.  Therefore, I purchased another Dash Mount and everything worked beautifully until a few weeks ago.  The Freemount bracket no longer springs.  Luckily I still have the other bracket but now I have to constantly remember to move the bracket.  I have the pedestal kit and the removal multistick which work fine.  Disappointed with the Vent Mount and how quickly the freemount bracket broke.

If you have a larger device, the magnet won't hold the unit from slipping down. It won't fall off just rotate to a poor angle. I have the larger iPhone, as does my wife, and we have the same issue.

Magnet needs to hit the gym

Love their products but disappointed with this one. My Chevy truck has vertical air vents and the louvers (with the added weight of the device and phone) flops to the left and right as the vehicle turns. Also the vice grip doesn't hold with gravity working against it when I reposition the phone; it slowly slides down and falls off.

I bought two of these when we switched phones because I wanted to use wireless charging and couldn't keep a magnet on the back of our phones.  First thing I noticed was that the adjustment really only held the phone well if the spacers were used.  But it seemed ok.  

But after a short time, my wife's wouldn't clamp shut and would only stay open.  My wife is in and out of her car all day.  Since my commute is very short, I swapped with her and within another month, the other freemount had quit holding the phone also.

I can't confirm that it isn't user error, but for two to quit working in exactly the same manner, I'm not statisfied with the quality of this product.
