I purchased this work bench for my grandson's second birthday. He loves tools. While the birthday party was going on, we sneeked into a quiet room and put it together. I think it only had one screw. You mainly just popped the pieces together - took all of about 10 minutes. It is so cute and he can't get enough of it. It came with several tools including a battery operated drill. Little ones will love all the things you can do with this. Fantastic item!

My daughter received some money for her 3rd birthday and chose this to buy. She was SOO excited it finally arrived on our doorstep. We have had it about 2 weeks and she still plays with it everyday. It was very easy to put together and the pieces are made wonderfully. She loved the screwdriver and especially the hammer. She "fixes" everything around here. Love it!

We purchased this workshop for our 3 year old grandson last year, and purchased another one for our other grandson's 3rd birthday this year.  It is good quality and a nice size because it doesn't take up too much space.  They can drill the nuts and bolts now and make the "wood" items when they are older.  The drill also works forward & backward so they can put things together and take them apart using the drill.  Step 2 has excellent customer service and we ordered more nuts & bolts directly from them.

Step 2 Real Projects Workshop and Tool Bench

We bought this for our 2yr old daughter and she just loves it.  Being a woodworking myself my wife wanted my daughter to start participating at her own level.  And there are few things that bring a feeling of satisfaction and accomplishment to anyone, kid or adult, than making something.

I did see where some reviews questioned the quality of the drill and it's inability to turn the bolts through the pieces when making the projects.  To be honest, we'd prefer that the drill not have the torque to prevent any potential for twisting our child's wrist when using it to thread the bolts into the table top.  If you have spent any time with a drill you know what I mean.  Eventually everyone will twist their wrist to some degree.

I also saw where some didn't like the hammer saying there isn't anything to hammer but we've used it to show our daughter how to gently (or hard as she may prefer from time to time) tap the work pieces together at the joints.

The one recommendation I offer for the product is to add either a wrench or a nut driver insert for the drill/screwdriver handle for use with the bolts/nuts.  While any kid will be able to hand tighter the nuts, learning to use the tools is a big part of the toys enjoyment not to mention a good way to work on the child's motor skills.

Product Likes:
-Easy assembly which was very nice as this was a Christmas Eve project.  Most pieces snap together with only a few screws necessary to complete the assembly.  Add a few stickers and you're good to go.
-A good selection of projects with instructions.  The finished projects look better to us than most others and there was a larger variety of projects as well.
-Child gets both individual time and quality time with parents when building one of the projects.
-Enough room for multiple kids (willing to share) and enough pieces that each child could each build their own project.

Excellent choice for 2 1/2 - 3 year old grandson - he loves It!  Walmart online was the only place I could find this particular product for a reasonable price.  Shipping to store was free, quick, and convenient.   The Step 2 box was a bit beat up looking, but all parts were in it, and the box appearance was not an issue for me.  Very happy with product and experience.

Excellent!

Good quality product for the price. Needed some assembly. We used an electric screwdriver for the two screws, which made it fast and easy. My 2yr old grandson loves it. The drill and screwdriver really turn the screws and the wood project pieces add to the fun. Even his older siblings enjoy playing with it!

Great workbench

My grandson LOVED this birthday gift, he loves to "fix it" and we played for hours with all the wonderful projects this work bench offered.
The wood like pieces are actually rubberized, drill runs on batteries and works like a real one, this will please you and the child in your life !

Perfect gift

We bought this as a Christmas present for our 4 year old grandson as a toy that would stay at our house.  We put it together before Christmas and put a large ribbon on it. Our grandson saw it Christmas eve when we exchanged presents. We were at my son's house on Christmas day and our grandson said he can't wait to sleep over so he can play with the work bench again. Enough said...

Grandson loves it

I got this for my son for his 4th birthday. He absolutely loves it! He doesn't really like playing with many toys at all but loves this! I had to get this site to store since my Walmart doesn't have it and it was cracked at the top. I couldn't send it back because he loved it so much. I was a little disappointed about the crack in the plastic.

I thought for 92 Dollars plus tax, this was very expensive for what you get.  The stand seemed very wobbly and it easily tipped over. My son was disinterested.  I ultimately returned it.
