It will work well for food, since it seals much better than regular sterilite containers. It is clear and easy to see the contents. The plastic is thick enough for 50 lbs of items.

seals better than other containers

walmart.com

I use it to store food items. I was having a sugar ant problem during all this heat we have had this year, so I needed to seal some of my food items where they could not get to them. This Sterilite gasket box works for my purpose. I opened and closed it every day for months now and it's holding up. Also, ant problem is not a problem anymore. Thanks for reading. Thank you, Walmart for making things affordable.

Works great for my purpose.

I've not yet put the articles of my dog's clothing in it that I need to but I have it here and actually I have a little heater on top of it so it is dirty It looks nice The appearance in the color are nice and even though that the bottom's translucent it's it's not a cheap translucent it has a sort of a what's the word opulence sort of it's it's not completely see through so you know what's in there but not everybody else does does that make sense cuz that's what it is

I was looking for some food storage containers and did not want to use buckets since I wanted to stack them. I got a few of these and I really like them. I use them to store my grain for milling and a couple I use for dog food. Being able to stack them helps save lots of room.

Once close, the seal is tight so there's no concern for critters getting in.

Seal tight for storing grain

I store food in my basement.
I have used these totes for a few years now. Nice foam seal around lid no way mouse gonna get in. I can stack these at least 6 high. Sides are rigid won't collapse I can sit on one - 250 lbs. get them on sale for 6.97 then a great deal. Even the same series with 4 latches are awesome.

Most rigid totes no mice bites on my food boxes

These storage bins are excellent overall—they’re sturdy, practical, and work exactly as expected when everything is intact. I’ve been very happy with their design and functionality.

However, I’ve had to return or exchange them multiple times due to missing parts like handles, gaskets, and even lids. Because of this, I highly recommend purchasing them in-store over delivery if possible, so you can inspect each bin for cracks or missing components before buying.

Despite the quality control issues, the product itself is great when you get a complete set.

Buy in store, not great for delivery

I absolutely love this bin!! However, the price jumped from $6.97 in March 2026 to $24.11 in August 2026. The newer version with the black latches are horrible and the side cracked and broke right away. Stacking them doesn't bear any weight. I am beyond disappointed in sterilite and walmart. Raising prices on an item by over 3x is awful. If you can afford to spend this exorbitant price it is a very good bin. Just can't get over raising the price this much.

Fantastic product, disgusting price jump

The bins have the wrong lids. Can't use them. They aren't even the right type! The bins are Sterilite, but the lids are Hefty! And not even the right color. They are supposed to be clear like the larger one in the picture. No excuse for this kind of mistake. Very disgusted.

Wrong lids!

This item is useless because it is off-gassing to high heaven. I tried airing it out in the sun several times with the lid off, but to no avail. As soon as you close the lid and have it sitting in the house for a day it's impossible to breath when reopening the lid. Maybe not eveyone is as sensitive to this sort of thing as me, but still - I don't see the point of sealing something important in this well-sealed container, which then off-gasses all of this terrible stuff in the enclosed space. I was going to store some old photos, comic books, and U.S. Postal Stamp Sheets in there but I'm almost certain that whatever is off-gassing from the container is going to reuin the items which I wanted to protect longer-term. The search continues!

Level of Off-gassing is unacceptable.

Product was cracked down the side and loaded into my car damaged. It is made of a thin plastic. Poor Quality. The so called seal is just foam, like packing peanuts are made from. The product is cheap. And the staff shouldn't have given me damaged products either. Avoid the return hassle and dont buy.

Cheap Product, Avoid
