Love it. This replaces a very old trash can that I had to take the lid completely off to put a new bag in. I really like that I do not have to remove the lid and place it on my counter to replace the bag. Just open the lid and pop the new bag in. Yet I can still remove the lid if I decide I want to wash it.

We're using this as a replacement for the diaper genie. The diaper genie was good while it lasted, however, at a certain point the diaper genie makes it hard to take out a full bag of diapers. This trash can is much easier. Love it! I just put a freshener in the bottom of the trash can.

GENIUS DESIGN, NO BELLS -NO WHISTLES NO SPRINGS!!!

I chose this Sterilite lift top garbage can for one thing: disposal of used cat litter. After a disappointing experience with a system created by a "genie," admittedly I had little hope for this simple, inexpensive unit. Using Great Value 13 gallon bags and Special Kitty Scoopable Tight Clumping Cat Litter (fragrance free), I'm pleased to report that once scooped, there is no odor emitting anywhere in my 450 square foot apartment. The lid does not snap shut to close tightly (it rests on the rim), but it closes well enough to not allow for odors to escape. Garbage bags are easy to insert and attach around the top of the can. The lid detaches for easy cleaning; in fact, the design that allows for such ease of removing the lid can be a detriment, as I have knocked it off several times while inserting a garbage bag! It's definitely not something I would consider worthy of a true complaint, though, just something that should be noted. Since it's working this well for yucky cat litter, I'm certain it would work well in a kitchen garbage can situation. Absolutely recommended!

Working Well With Yucky Cat Litter!

bought this for my husband corner by the couch with the hopes that he will keep the trash off his table and out of the reach of my infant and toddler definitely gets the job done my kids haven't figured out how to open it yet. I'm tempted to get another one for the kitchen so that maybe it'll keep my kids from trying to get stuff out of the kitchen trash.

I also wondered why not the bottom and top wrapped with a tape, open box and the other item was inside, easy to be stilled.   Should be taped all over on top so nobody can still the inside item.  Luckily I was home!  Assembly is the key of purchasing online, at the store is different story.

Perfect for keeping the dog out, decent size, kid hasn't tried to get into it now either, and plus they sent me two by accident one without a lid when I only paid for one cause they were stuck together! Pretty awesome cause I was feeling bad about spending money on something I already had just wanted a new one lol! Now I have one for upstairs too!!

Thinner than expected, for a heavy-duty trashcan, but makes it lighter in weight, and easier to carry around.  Holds a lot. The lid helps keep dogs out of the trash. Trash bags are easy to install and remove. No struggling to get the bags on.

i got this for my recycling. Before, I just put it in a bag %26 hung it from the doorknob %26 had to make multiple trips to the outside bin. Now I can take it out all in one trip %26 the lid keeps the recyclables hidden from view. And it is very easy to clean.

I needed an exact replacement for my current one but the one that was sent has a step on lid lift which is not what the pictures for this listing shows! FALSE ADVERTISING!
