My previous laundry basket is currently holding patterns and fabric because it is easy to see what it holds. I especially like the configuration because when I fold clothes and place them in, they remain flat and tidy.

These are the sturdiest laundry baskets available and I was SO happy to get more for my daughter who just moved.  They beat Rubbermaid by a mile...you won't be disappointed

Great product, great value !

I love the size and weight of this basket, but this is the second one that had a grey handle break off. They're in different spots and not handled any differently over the lifetimes of either, so it makes no sense why only one has broken on each with frequent and identical usage. I'll modify the second so we can still use it, since I hate replacing another one so soon, and I need to find another that appeals as much to me but with a better quality control.

Love the specs but handles break

I agree with most of the other reviews; I have been buying Sterilite products for many, MANY years (my first Sterilite laundry basket was in college, and -that- was while dinosaurs still roamed the earth), and I've previously always liked the quality and durability. It's easiest for me to have at least two baskets in rotation, one with dirty and one with clean or to separate the loads, so I like to have at least two or even three. AND -- I still have one of the laundry baskets that I bought probably twelve years ago that is still going great and puts up with all the abuse it ought to; unfortunately, Sterilite no longer makes this model, a slightly more straight-sided and squared-off rectangular model.
This new one listed here has unfortunately NOT lived up to its predecessor's record -- I barely got any laundry into it soon after beginning to use it and the handle inserts popped out, sometimes snapping off the tabs on the ends of those inserts, weakening the whole sides of the basket and making it impossible to carry it on my hip up our staircase. I am reasonably handy, so I tried to glue the handles back in place first with superglue, but it failed; then tried epoxy, being sure to also cover the tabs that are supposed to lock the inserts into the body of the basket. No dice; they did not stay. Undefeated, I drilled small holes thru the slots into the inserts and installed small screws to keep them in place when the tabs wouldn't. Nope. The portion of the basket that surrounds each tab of the inserts now broke off -- STILL attached to the inserts -- making the whole darned thing unusable. Because even if I wasn't using those handles to carry the basket, without the inserts there the structure is so weak it "folds" at the part of the basket where the inserts used to be. I don't think the frame would stand up to doing any home-reinforcing to make it last longer -- And frankly, I do not think I ought to have to kludge OR to baby a basket THIS much to be able to use what I've paid for, for the exact use it was supposedly designed to fill.
I have to say I am really, really disappointed in the quality and the structure of these baskets! I have now gone thru FOUR of the new ones since buying the first of this model, and the OLD basket is still undamaged and structurally sound.
C'mon, Sterilite -- I -know- you can do it, you have in the past -- isn't there a way you can slightly change the design on this and make it durable? I'd buy several so that I'm never without a good quality, sturdy basket again!

Quality was better in the past, but now has gone downhill

The very first time I used this, the gray handle popped out of place and the plastic handle bent and split. I did not even have the basket filled. A little glue to hold the gray part in place and it would never have broken.
I want to buy American Made products because I take pride in my Country, please take more pride in your products.

This could be a GREAT product.

We are a family of five and naturally have a lot of laundry with 2 teens and a pre teen. We do laundry nearly on a daily basis. 

We had used a different brand and had these for many years, In fact, the kids played in the baskets as toddlers but after 15 yrs all but one had worn out which is still completely intact. 

A couple of yrs ago we bought some sterillte ones for replacements since stores weren't carrying the prior brand we had had, (the red basket in the attached photo) and after a year or so the handle grips began coming off. We dealt with them until nearly all the handles came off.

So On June 7th, we bought 4 of these white 2 bushel Sterilite baskets to replace those. Within 3 days I picked up a full basket and a handle area completely broke out on the side. We saw the same happen on 2 more of the baskets. Then the final straw is when I picked up a basket by the corners (because the handles had broke out and the entire corner broke off of the basket! Only one is still together!

Yes I fill my baskets full but it is one load of clothes out of our high capacity washer and dryer and these have fallen apart

HORRIBLE PRODUCT! Don't buy

Did not match with the picture what is supposed to come the basket?

I decided to buy five of the laundry baskets. All five have broken handles. I own other Sterlite baskets but these performed the worst. I actually think that this product could be so much better with just a few simple design and engineering upgrades. I am now seeking a more durable solution.
