[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Well designed with a beautiful art style, Wingspan offers different types of players an immersive experience. Collect birds in different habitats, lay eggs, and forage for food.  Multiple paths to victory.  Great game!

Competitive, easy-to-learn, but strategic game

We love this game! Ads declare this is for age 10 and up, but when the box arrived it was for ages 14  so I was a little disappointed. However, our 8 year old is playing the game and loving it. In fact, shes already won one. The  instructions are a little intimidating, but the game comes with a first-time player set of cards that teaches the game with step-by-step move instructions for four rounds. What a game changer for first time players! By the fourth round we were playing on our own. Smart move on the game makers part! There are also YouTube videos on the game site that demonstrate. Once you know how to play, this game is amazing. It keeps our 8 year old engaged enough to play to completion. No requests to quit the game early and that is huge!

Love Wingspan!

I find that I'm drawn to board games that are visually well done, educational, and have lots of components. This game is all of that. The objective is attract birds to your aviary. Each card contains info about the bird's habitat, nest type, etc. The game play is enjoyable, but there can be a learning curve if the rules aren't explained thoroughly. Lots to remember, but not necessarily a hard game to learn.

they had a lot of bubble wrap around a. damaged game box. I ordered it from a private seller and cannot recall if the damage was in the description of the product. I guess you get what you pay for. 
game isn't my favourite after 1 play, but maybe it will grow on me. it's a basic game and much of the strategy depends on how good the cards are that you get and what food is available in the bird feeder.

This game is much more complicated than I had first anticipated.  We tried to play it with some younger nieces and nephews and they quickly lost interest in the process of trying to figure it out.  I feel the quick start is basically useless as it just tells you steps to mimic but not really why or what kind of strategy is evolving int he process.  We will figure it out as I have many friends that love the game.  I think I will try to find a tutorial on Youtube.
