It is solid wood, no particle board. This is a beautiful desk that will last many, many years. It is solid wood, very heavy, but nice and sturdy. I love the keyboard pull out tray, it's perfect for proper typing and keeps the desk looking tidy. The color is a honey pine, not my favorite, but I don't care because of the quality piece this truly is. Very good buy from Walmart. Extremely satisfied.

Great solid wood desk for the money! Arrived with only a small 1/4 inch indent on the top surface of the desk but no other damage. Could use thicker padding on the top surface for shipping. Was very easy to assemble, and is slightly more orange in color than pictured. I am very satisfied with the quality and price.

Clean lines - nice-looking

This desk/table is just what I needed for a small office space in the spare bedroom. Down sized from a much larger desk. Surprising what you don't need and can do without. It sits next to a bookcase with the same finish and they look "related". Had the case for several years. Put this desk together in about 10 minutes. Turn it upside down, screw in the legs with enclosed hardware, flip it over and slide the drawer in at an angle and you are finished. Sturdy wood and NO particle board.

Great piece of furniture

Great desk, sturdy construction, works well for the space that I needed it for. Excellent packaging for shipping. 1st online purchase from Walmart. I was impressed with how smoothly the entire transaction worked out.

Great desk

I am very happy with this desk! It is exactly as pictured, except a more orange tinge to the finish than the picture shows. But, it matches my bamboo floors very well. It was easy to put together and it is made of real wood. I am impressed overall.

Great desk for a low price

This is an ideal work-from-home desk: It can accommodate two monitors and still has room on the desk for note pads, papers, etc.. It has a keyboard tray that has room for a mouse too.

Great quality

Overall a good looking, sturdy piece, made from real wood. There may possibly be some wood veneer over particle board somewhere, but I didn't notice any. The top has many boards, most of which are short and joined end to end with that less than attractive finger joint look. Still, it IS real hardwood. The finish - stain color is nice, just a bit darker than a blonde or natural look. The protective finish is thick enough, but could be smoother to the touch. The only flaw I noticed is a chip of wood missing from the inside edge of the drawer front.

Real wood furniture of good quality is very expensive. I like this "almost as good" quality piece, because it is real hardwood everywhere, not MDF with a completely fake wood veneer that would come off as soon as a piece of transparent tape is stuck to it and removed.

With this, you get more than you pay for

For the most part it was great. Solid wood, a big plus in my book. The unfortunate side of it was the wood that held the drawer rails was not properly fastened down which made the drawer fit loose. Got a friend to help with putting it together the correct way (glue and screw). None of the joints were glued but I wasn't going to tear apart the whole desk so I opted for just the loose parts and since I had better hardware laying around (pocket screws). Somebody in QC had to make the decision to use the available hardware. The manufacturer went through the process of drilling hidden holes then instead of using pocket hardware they used countersink screws. So another plus was I received the desk undamaged. It was very well packaged for shipping. Another plus in my book. I would've given this 5 stars if it wasn't for the problems I mentioned. On that note, I would recommend this desk to a friend if I knew they were mechanically inclined.

Studio Home Office Computer Desk

I had this item shipped to my local Wal-mart. I was excited about receiving it, and it didn't take long to have it delivered. The desk was real wood, although it did have an organge tint. It was in my price range as well. Sadly, I have to return it. Both corners on the back of the desk were damaged. One side was actually splitting. I would have been happy with my purchase had it not been for the damage.
