I bought my gate for my 10 week old puppy to use at the top of my stairs.  Glad knowing i can use it for when I have kids or my brother's kids are over playing.

Solid, simple, relatively easy to install. The white metal material blends in with the woodwork as opposed to the heavy wooden gates. Put a felt protector on the bottom of the foot and it will easily slide across the floor. A must for top of stairs gate for both kids and pets.

We have 3 of these that I installed to keep the dogs and grandson out of places they shouldn't be. They work great, except that our Husky has figured out how to use his mouth and unlatch the gate.

As soon as we took it out of the box we knew that it wasn't going to work. I don't know if the one we got was just defective or if it's just a bad design, but the materials grind/scrape up against each other scraping it each time you try to open it. It shouldn't have that much resistance and takes two hands to open. I had planned to use this at the top of the stairs and have two young children I have to carry down and there are much better options for the price. Was very disappointed with this.
