Seating Comfort

This is the second summit I've owned. The 1st one lasted 20 years. I have seen some complain about the safety pins being noisy. I didn't find that to be the case and to be honest I like the added safety feature of them. It is also quieter than my older stand and climbs very effectively. Threading the seat through for packing was a learning curve for me since my previous stand was a open front. One glitch for me is the notches that go against the tree. After packing in, unlodging the 2 sections can be difficult because the notches catch around the flat metal of the other section. But overall it's easily the best stand I've ever used and packs in and out quite comfortably.

Safe quality climber

Summit

Amazing stand perfect in every way, I've already done three all day hunts this year, very comfortable take about a 2 1/2 hour nap in the afternoon,,,, I have two other summit stands one is 25+ years old. It's open front viper. I'm 62 now and like to sit down climb option is amazing. Would give this 10+ stars but the foot rest and the bow holder. The foot rest is the best 2 1/2 pounds you will ever put on your back if you have a stand by one if you're getting a new one by one.,,,

Viper, pro review

I purchased this climber for a hunting trip in Ohio. This stand is super lightweight! It packs and unpacks pretty easy. I read lots of reviews on this stand before I purchased. Some people stated that the stand was noisy to set up but I didn't have that issue. I did 12 hour sits 5 days in a row. This stand was super comfortable and I love the fast track hooks. Be aware the fast track hooks don't come with the stand, for the price they should. I would definitely recommend this climber.

Great stand

On my 4th, and no I don't go through them. They last forever even when they're left all season like I've been known to do. But I love these seats so much I buy self climbers from summit instead of ladders. I like the platforms and the seats better than any ladder stand out there. Simply because they move out of the way when you want to stand during peak hours. And with memory foam it's dang near a lazy boy when you're in there an hour and a half pre dawn. I love being able to customize my height too, sometimes I ha e a tree that I can get high in. Sometimes I'm only ten feet. Depends on spot and situation. Ling time user and came to buy some hangers, but felt compelled to say thank to contributing to many successful hunts I'm these.

They're just the best.

I like the stand very light weight very easy and quiet to set up. The only thing I would like to see is the back strap for carrying could tie together

Viper pro

Stand is great. I was a little annoyed that one of the safety pins for the cable adjustment had a securing cable missing but it doesn't effect how the stand works. It's very comfortable.

Good stand

I'd give it 5 but the plastic piece with the green S broke the first time I took it out. Someone must have forgot the glue. With as much as it cost nothing should break first time out. I found the top piece, still missing the bottom

Ok, piece broke

DONT BUY THIS STAND. Way over rated. Cost way to much for poor thought engineering. The upgraded hand releases are not worth it. They have a pin to apply pressure on cable after locking cable in. Very very noisy. Pings all over the place even when taking the utmost care. I have been using Summit tree stands for about 20 years, I am 66 years old so I know a few things. If I were to buy it all over I would buy the Viper SD instead of the Viper SD Pro. Same stand lighter, quieter, and easier to use. I gave 2 stars ONLY because its comfortable.

Poor thought process

Two issues I'm having with this stand. The first is when you put the lower half into the upper, the teeth lock the 2 halves together to where it's extremely difficult to pull them apart. The paint and aluminum are all chewed up after only 2 uses. The second is due to the bend on the upper portion of the stand (which I think is to make the upper more roomy), the cable is very difficult to slide in and out of the tube until you get past the second stop or so. You have to really pull hard which for me makes it difficult to bend the cable inward to keep it centered. Similar to above, the shrink wrap is all torn off after only 2 uses. I have a Viper SD which has neither of this issues.

Regretting this purchase unfortunately and would return if I hadn't used it already.

Disappointed

Bad design. Very noisy, Behind the quick grips there's a pin. It makes a lot of noise even when you use the utmost care. For the price its not worth it. Don't buy this model. Buy the Viper SD not the Viper PRO SD. It will save a lot of money. Its quieter and easier to use. I gave 2 stars because both are very comfortable. I posted a negative comment yesterday morning about this product. An hour later it was taken down. Shame on you Summit, shame on you.
