I liked the power of the electric tiller and it will dig about 6 inch deep , 18 inch wide. Need to adjust handle to suite your height. pulling it backwards really cuts soil soil up fine. Is helpful to another person to hold cord to keep it out of your way and not cut it.

This little beast is amazing! I have hard clay soil. This tiller chewed right into it. Plenty of power. Wide enough to be useful but small enough to be easily maneuvered. I was happily surprised. Good little mule to have in the stable.

Powerful litte beast!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Like most tillers or cultivators, it has one forward speed.  Once it's turned on, it chewed through the grass and dirt like it was not even there!  Once I completed churning up a row, the light weight made it very easy to drag backwards for even more effective tilling.  Turned my grass and clay soil into top soil.

Great Tiller

Was very skeptical when i ordered . When tiller arrived was very easy to put together when i used it for 1st time was totally impressed with power and handling.It goes thru soil with ease. I live in Missouri and have a lot of clay and rocks it handled both when it hits rocks it bounces off and throws rocks off to side. I hit a buried tractor bolt and didnt even put a knick in tine Great tool for the money

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really love this tiller. I don't know how it'll be in the years to come, but tears up the ground like a dream, except when it comes to really thick roots, big rocks, and it does fling dirt a little bit back at my pants. It also would stop if it overheats, which is a plus. It took a minute or less to start it again. For a good size backyard garden or other projects this is perfect. It's really light too. I hope I have this tiller for years to come. Roots do get wrapped around bladders but they easily came off.

Powerful, tough little tiller

So far I have had no issues with the Sun Joe Tiller.  Took about 6 minutes to assemble. Plugged it in and off it went. It done a far better job then what I was expecting for an electric tiller. My yard is hard Southern Illinois clay.  Tilled up yard with no effort at all, I am 5'2" with a messed up spine, I was able to operate for short periods at a time. My legs get to where  can not hold up my own weight, so I have to go in split up sessions. Glad I purchased and would recomend.

Much better then it appears it would be

My 15 yr. old 7 hp Craftsman broke last year and I have been slow about getting it repaired. My wife told me she wanted to plant early this year and I HAD to get the tilling done soon. I looked for something(cheap) to buy time until I could get the Craftsman fixed and ended up with this tiller. I got the garden done so quick SHE decided to double the size and I DID. It has power galore and handled the untilled clay and rock like the BIG boys.
A++ for this little powerhouse !!

This is not your Dad's Electric Tiller!!!

I am very pleased with the Sun Joe TJ604E Tiller. Most reviews state that it can compare with medium weight gas powered ones and it does. Even though the Sun Joe manual says its not intended for hard clay I attacked my hard clay soil in my front lawn (30 X 8 ft.) and after an hour, and some bouncing, I had loosened soil 4 inches deep with no damage to the blades. I then added new, good topsoil and retilled/mixed the new topsoil in with the now loosened clay - it mixed/tilled the soil with ease. I highly recommend the 13.5 AMP tiller  level to do never- tilled areas - the lower amp models just won't do the job. This tiller is a workhorse...I was impressed.

It's Electric But Still a Dynamo !!

My yard had been neglected for a few years so there was some weed over growth. The ground is hard dirt but this was able to penetrate at 3-4 inches into it.
I got rid of all the weeds with this machine and was able to even out the area with the dirt that came up.
I had to unwind some of the long grass that got stuck in the blades but was not a huge deal.
Anyway this machine was and is a better option for me that renting a tiller. I have a couple of areas that I need to tend to and will run the machine again through the same areas to make sure that the weeds are gone and add some more weed killer to the new dirt.

Does a great job for home lawn and garden

I borrowed my daughters Sun Joe last year to see how my old bad back would handle using it. Nice! I was able to load it and remove it from my car by myself, and easily roll it to the spot in the backyard where I was going to use it.

Last year I did a small bed with my daughters' this year I bought one for myself and used my Sun Joe to till 2-40'x4' beds, a 30' foot 16" wide bed, and 2-4'x6' beds. I still had to take breaks but the Sun Joe is easier to use then gas powered front tine or rear tine tillers. I like this tiller!

3 weeks in the entire tying hub assembly snapped, and it's useless
