The Sun Joe was just what I was looking for: light, easy to handle, and packs a powerful punch. It exceeded my expectations for cutting branches less than 9 inches and can also be used for pruning small limbs. Could not have asked for a better fit for someone over sixty-five and does not want to be a pulp wooder.

This chainsaw is so light and easy to use I was able to do my own heavy yard work and I am a 67 year old grandma.. Before, I had to hire someone to cut big limbs, now I do it myself! The chainsaw is so light I can use it with ease. It was easy for me to put together and it runs well. Cuts right through 4 inch and bigger  branches. So I am getting ready for fire season here in Southern California all by myself!

So light this grandma could use it!

This is a perfectly good little pruning saw. Just used it, it has just as much power as any other electric chainsaw I've ever used. I am totally happy with it. Great for the price.

This saw is great. I had an old Remington and the motor finally failed so I bought another Remington and it was not so great. Would not cut (chain on backwards maybe?) right out of the box and it leaked oil, so I returned it. I bought this Sun Joe and could not be happier. It would definitely cut down a tree that has a trunk as large as the Sun Joe blade. I expect this to last me for as long as I am able to use it. Thanks Sun Joe.

Best ever

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I live in the country and my property is surrounded by trees. A tree recently fell on my property and I really needed a new chainsaw to clear it from my yard. I decided to get this 12" Sun Joe Electric Chainsaw. It was going to be a lot of work and there was no way a battery powered one would cut it and I definitely didn't want to tote around a big, heavy, bulky gas powered one. Upon removing it from the box, I noticed very little assembly was required and all tools needed were included. The bar and chain were even held together with a zip tie, to ensure the chain would be put on in the correct direction. It's definitely all to easy to easy to put the chain on incorrectly, so that was a nice touch and made the assembly all that much easier. All I needed now,  was to plug in the extension cord and I was good to go! This chainsaw does come with a button located on top of it, that'll need to be pressed along with the power to use it. My overall opinion of the using this 12" Sun Joe Electric Chainsaw is, that it's lightweight, easy to handle, very powerful and cuts with ease. It was perfect for the job at hand!!

Perfect For The Job!!!

I have not used the chain saw yet but my friend used it and he said: "I is very good."

I picked this saw because I have owned  Sun Joe pressure washer for a couple of years and have been pleased with it. The saw worked well for the main job I bought it for, a major pruning of an unruly laurel hedge that I shortened by 6 feet, meaning I was cutting a number of trunks ranging up to about 6 inches in diameter. The saw performed very well once I mastered getting the blade tension correct. After that there were no problems.

A Good Light Duty Chain Saw

Had to take it apart after cutting up 1 pallet. The oiler wasn't working. There was a little plastic gear (that powers the oil pump) that wasn't touching another gear. (for the chain) was able to fix the issue after taking it apart. Works fine now.

Faulty out of the box

I realize it's an inexpensive saw..and it does small jobs okay..... but it seems very plastic... I thought there would be more metal parts to it. It's ok for my small purposes.
