The first one we had lasted in heavy daily use for a couple years. Well worth it, so we repurchased the same model that had recently quit working! It helps makes breakfast faster, has independent controls for each side, bagel button works, toasts well

just got it today and I like it. It has been 5 or 6 years since I bought a toaster. And the need was bad. Black and Decker makes good products. I would recommend it to anyone.

The toaster has a smell when you first start using it, but it does eventually settle and goes away.

Smells when newly used

It is nothing fancy.  It makes good toast after you get the settings to your likings.  On my old toaster (same brand with small differences) the bagel button was pressed before you pushed the lever down. On this one you have to push the lever than press the button.

It is just a basic toaster

My daughter was very happy when she got this toaster, except for the fact that it only heats the bread and doesn't toast it! I am returning this toaster.

I've had this toaster for approximately 3 months. I've used it maybe 5 times successfully. After that, one side just wouldn't clasp and I was stuck with one side. I've used it about 10 times since then and go to use it today and nothing. Neither side will catch and it sparks each time I push the lever down. This thing is a piece of junk and a joke. Won't be buying Sunbeam products ever again.
