Simple design makes it easy to manage the hose reel.

This hose reel replaced a unitwith 10 years of use which had fallen apart
which is mounted on a backyard panel.  This unit mounted on the existing panel.
Pnel is mounted to two steel posts driven in th ground.
Hopefully this hose reel will function well

15-year review!  I purchased this in 2005 and have now just replaced it in 2020.  Most likely it was repairable.  The spool had popped off 2 times when spooling out the hose.  I never really inspected it to see why because Walmart still sold this thing which meant that the mounting holes would still match up!  It has 4 mounting holes for the bracket which I mounted to a brick wall and the spool pops on and has a locking switch on the front to hold it in place. (Yes, my old spool could have just been unlocked and only realized this when installing the new one.)  I really love that this thing is off the ground and is such a snap to spool out and spool back in.  Plus, any spool-type device will prolong the life of your hose because it never gets twisted or curled.  It pretty much comes out straight and spools right back on straight.  I've included a picture showing with a 100' foot heavy duty hose.

I would have never thought hanging it would be so easy . It took me 15 minutes to pug it on the. Wall. Great product with a nice price !

Went on with no problems, works as it should but the handle crank is way too short. After cranking the hose on the reel my knuckles were scraped. Seems like a good reel for the price but make the handle on the reel a little longer.

This is made to be hung up outside. That means it will be subject to heat and cold, and if you live in Florida like I do - extreme heat.  I've owned about 4 of these over the years, so it goes without saying that I like the product.  However, it could be made a little sturdier.  Additionally, it's really tough to stop the hose from leaking at the connection on the reel, so that could be improved also.  All that being said it fills my needs- just wished it'd last longer.

This hose reel works as advertised.  It's a little flimsy compared to the hose reel I purchased 20 years ago, but just about everything made today is not as well made as 20 years ago.  Addressing some of the other reviewers concerns: 
1. yes, the leader hose kinks slightly where it connects to the reel but that did not impede the water flow for me.
2. yes, the reel leaks where the main hose is attached to the reel, but that problem was solved by used pipe thread tape on the fitting attaching the hose.
Summary: this hose reel works well for me.  It is a decent value for the price.

Good Value

So far so good but wonder if there's away to take the front piece of the wheel part off. It is very difficult to get your hands or a wrench in to tighten/loosen the hose. I think there must be away but is not mentioned in the instructions and I don't want to force it and risk breaking it.

When hose in with pressure it gets disconnected from reel , stop using it after two weeks  after I got it.

Garbage, they Leak like Crazy! The connection fitting are made of cheap plastic!

Terrible Item

It was fragile but, worse than that, it leaks and water runs down the wall. Had an older model that worked OK, this one is a disappointment.
