Installation Instructions

Carries bikes without scratching car or bike surfaces.

Directions lack clarity, making assembly more difficult.

Requires minimal effort and assembly time.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It does what it's supposed to do. We are using for our electric bikes. I have used on my truck and the camper.

The design of this bike rack is what makes this a great product. The rack is solid and easy to adjust. The rack is easy to load with bikes, and you can adjust the rack center bar down in seconds to allow access to your vehicle hatchback. The only minor weakness is the bolt and cotter pin to attach to the hitch receiver. I'd prefer a stainless steel bolt and nut. The included galvanized bolt does thread into the hole in the portion of the bike rack that mounts into the 2-inch receiver as that part of the rack is threaded to receive the enclosed bolt. A cotter pin secures the bolt from coming out in the unlikely event the bolt unscrews itself. I tried to find an equivalent SS bolt with a nut and discovered the bolt has an unusual thread. They had nothing at Lowes that matched. Other than this minor issue, this is a quality rack with a superior confidence-inspiring design.

Nice rack - Very good design

I am pleased with this bike rack. I had a 1.25 inch hitch receiver mounted on my 2011 Honda Fit and this bike rack worked great with that set-up. we took a long trip from Phoenix to the Redwood Coast of California and we took along one bike on this bike rack. The bike was secure on the rack. As the trip went on we became quite confident that the rack was securely holding the bike. We used some velcro straps to make the bike extra secure on the rack when we were on I-5 going 75mph. it was pretty easy to take the bike off and put back on. I am a 63 year old lady. the center post on the rack can be lowered so once the bike is off the rack i can lower the post and open the hatchback no problem. I put orange tape on the outer ends of the rack so we wouldn't hit our shin on it. I got the hitch from eTrailer and had it installed on the Honda Fit at B and M Bumpers in Glendale, Arizona (definitely recommend B

Very Pleased

As a retired 64 year old woman, healthy & in fairly good shape (bad knees) I wanted a bike rack I could handle by myself. My husband put it together- he beat me to it! But I don't think it was difficult. I can put it on my car (CRV) & remove by myself. I have no trouble at all putting my bike on the outer spot. The inner is a little tricker for me ~ trying to keep the bike pedal from scratching my car; but securing a towel over the pedal took care of that issue. I have only driven to the park about 5 miles from my house with my bike attached; I had no problems, felt no swaying ~ but cannot attest to interstate driving. I am very happy & pleased with this purchase. It took me 2 months to decide on this one...with the deciding factor: it's Walmart & easy to return if necessary ~~ I won't be returning this!!!

Love it!!

This rack is easy to set up and easy to use. The bikes are held down firmly with the adjustable padded clamps and does not wobble. It folds up by just pulling a couple of lock pins. I can't find any negatives, which is rare! Best bike rack for the money!

Well made

This track surprised how strong and sturdy it is, I can unload and reload in less then 1min. It's highly compact with the fold up sides. If I could I would reassure this
6 out of 5 stars."!.. I would highly recommend this to anyone!

Great Quality and very nice and compact

The bike rack showed up days earlier than we expected. Quick assembly, great middle arm fold down design for loading the first bike, great fold up design for easy bike rack storing.

Solid Bike Rack

The directions could be better, I used videos to augment the instructions and did OK. Get out your magnifying glass! I had to add the expense of a $35.00 U-Haul hitch adaptor because my 2" trailer hitch on my Toyota Tacoma was to thick for the "proprietary" hitch pin supplied to reach all the way through. After that though, I was really pleased with the outcome and sturdiness.

favorable with a catch for Tacoma's

Very good bike rack that securely keeps our bikes for short or long distances. The only complaint is the black material on the top hook that rests tightly against your bike frame leaves black residue that has to be scrubbed off. I now keep a small piece of rag tied around the bike for the latch to rest on to solve the problem. Good product for the money!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I didn't want to spend $300 to take my $400 bike to parks with bike trails. This is a sturdy rack. 2” square tube framing makes it stable. The assembly is simple and gave me no surprises. It looks like most of the more expensive racks.

I wanted a hanging rack, but MTBs do not ‘hang' well on a Jeep Compass. My front wheel hung below the hitch despite adding a crossbar.

This Maxx rack has platforms for two bikes. Platforms are more wiggly than a bike hanger rack, but I drove the bike on the rack around town a few days to test it and it held up very well in traffic and on the highway.

I do not anticipate another 35%23 bike will break it.

Rack tilts out to open the SUV hatch. The bike rack members are 1 1/4” square tube and can be removed to store in your vehicle using the locking pins. It has frame-clamping hooks to keep the bikes in place against the upright. The wheel traps adjust for adjusting your bike's stance. I will use my silver Sharpie to mark my (and my riding friend's) bike wheel traps placement. Basically, you want the hook to hit right at the seat post/frame intersection.

I would add a pack of bungees to secure the bikes, anyway. I also bought a locking pin to secure the 2” tube to the hitch. I put the rack's included hitch pin in my bike toolbox.

My receiver has ears for trailer safety chains which I run my cable bike lock through to keep the bike on the car when making shopping stops.

I am happy. I recommend this rack.

I desperately needed a bike rack for my truck and wanted one to fit into the 2" hitch receiver but I didn't want to spend an exorbitant amount of money for something I won't use all that often. Of course, I really should have followed the old adage "you get what you pay for" because I got exactly that: a cheap, flimsy rack that wobbles in the hitch receiver enough to make people following me honk their horns to tell me it looks like the whole thing is going to fall off of the back of my truck. Instead of having a solid 2" sleeve for the 1" portion of the frame to fit into a 2" hitch receiver, there are two pieces that don't go all the way around, allowing the frame to wobble inside the hitch receiver. I tried removing those pieces to use a different 1" to 2" hitch adapter, but the bolt holding them together is frozen in place. I'm going to have to find someone who can tap and drill the bolt to remove it and it'll probably cost me between $20 and $50 to have that done, but it's better than buying another bike rack.

Beware! 2" adapter wobbles in the hitch receiver!

Swagman Bike Rack 64650 XC 2, a black hitch-mounted bike rack designed for 1-1/4 inch and 2 inch receiver hitches. It holds up to 2 bikes with a combined weight capacity of 70 pounds. The rack features loop-style wheel rests, upright ratchet arms with a soft frame-friendly coating, and an anti-wobble hitch device. Suitable for tire sizes ranging from 20 to 29 inches. Non-foldable design without a lock.
