All you need is to drill a 1" hole and run the power cord and the communications are wireless.  I get quick email alerts and playback and setup is quite easy.  The audio pickup is very impressive.  You can hear everything within 30-40 ft.  
Con: if you set the sensitivity to be low, it will not pick up movement.  You need to adjust it to almost half to be consistent.

The hardest thing about the set up was determining where to put the cameras. The directions worked well for me. the Base station found the cameras. I changed the default login and password and after a restart the cameras snapped into action. I bought it mainly for piece of mind for a newly installed pool. The mobile app works great. i can watch from work while i had some contractors doing some work. The mics worked remarkably well. With headphones on, i can make out most of their conversation from about 30 feet away outside. As my needs increase, it is good to know that I can add on 2 more cameras. Love the fact that it does not bog down my current wifi. Suggest checking what channel your wifi is on and change the channel of the camera base station to another to avoid interference.

easy set up!

I bought this cameras a month ago good qulity, night vision is exelent but the settings not easy  also get frozen after apply save even to set up clock. I will call support and se if they can fix it.  Also wifi is not great maybe 10 to 15 feet   I use them on a mobil home it works for me

I bought this product on line from Sam's club, it arrived promptly and as ordered, however after reading all the directions and plugging everything in one of the cameras would not work wirelessly, customer service for Swanns was closed after five and on weekends so I had to wait until Monday to call  IT for help, only to continueously get a recording that customer service was not available  and was encouraged to call back later, this went on long enough and was very frustrating, so I called Sams customer service and explained what was happening and that  it was impossible to get any technical support from Swann, happily the customer service rep from Sams was very helpful and ordered a replacement, again the order arrived quickly and everything worked great on the replacement set. good product for  home use however 2 cameras is not enough, I will be ordering more to expand . My real issue was the lack of customer service from Swann and a phone number that would not work. That is why I will give this product a 3 rating, but I think it is a good value and will give some security around my home.

bad customer service

I've only installed one camera so far and I've had a few problems certain times of the day I have no files and the camera loses video multiple times a day.The camera is only about 22 feet from the base and I have moved the antennas around and it still happens.I haven't called Swann yet to see if I can rectify the problem but I feel it shouldn't have one to begin with

Great during day, but night was not. Unless your 40ft from camera you see person as a ghost figure. We could not tell who it was. Good for closers video.

Ghost images

I bought this item a month ago i got it by mail and returned it the next day Pros: Fast delivery, Easy to set up. Cons: 1) you need a power outlet near by or you will need to run power  cables, so its no wireless .  2) wifi signal weakens as you move from room to room. I had mine set up in the living room and one of the cameras one wall away and that was enough to block the signal. 3) it looses signal even when you have the cameras next to the wifi.
Not a reliable system.

Not worth it

For a wireless system, the instructions detailed a set-up with all components near each other including your internet modem.  I spent countless hours trying to set up the system wirelessly to my modem, including more than an hour with a Swan tech.
After many ours of frustration, I finally gave up.  Ended  up returning this to Sam's    Club.

Awful set-up instructions.

Had to call the company to get it set up,and even then it seemed to baffle them. Without even recording it some how screws up our internet after a few hours,am sorry I didn't go with wired...picture isnt to bad but only at a certain range
