Use Swann's USB Wi-Fi Antenna to replace any network cable connecting the DVR or NVR to the internet router. Going wireless on the network connection lets you choose more secretive spots to hide your DVR or NVR, as it no longer needs to reach the router via cable, making your video evidence more secure. Add the USB antenna to the following recorder series: DVR-4480V, DVR-4580V, DVR-4780V, DVR-4980V (4 channel) and DVR-4980 (8 and 16 channel), DVR-5580 and NVR-8580 (they must firmware version 8 or higher).

Finally able to get rid of the LAN cable snaking through the house to the DVR. This little antenna was a straightforward plug n play solution and after setting the username and password for my wi-fi network, it was up and running in a matter of minutes. Signal is strong and reliable, no problems to report, I'm able to view the camera output on my desktop computer and mobile apps without any issues at all.

Really easy to plug in. Updating the firmware was not. Had to unplug everything and bring the system to the router and connect that. But now it's all working great guns. Beware update firmware wipes all previous setups

Excellent, was the best decision a made, it saved me a lot of work, and I didn't have to run cables to be able to connect my security  cameras to the internet. I definitely recommend it

I was unaware of this USB Wi-Fi antenna for the Swann DVR and was struggling with how to connect the DVR to our home internet.  We had no way to run wires and were looking at adding a more expensive Wi-Fi router when we stumbled across this device.  It was simple to install and worked extremely well.

Easy Internet Connection

This antenna works just fine! So if you are planning to purchase a Swann DVR, don't wait until you get your system set up at your home, get an antenna when you purchase your DVR. Without an antenna, my Swann's DVR have very limited range of reception. So much so, I don't see why Swann doesn't just add an antenna with unit at the time of purchase. My DVR was only 30 feet (down the hall) from my Wifi router, and I could not connect my Router with my DVR without an antenna.

Easy to install & works great. Odd that it didn't already have wifi but no biggie!

USB Wifi antennae

Bought this to get rid of cables running everywhere to the lan port on the wall. Once I ensured the firmware was up to date and plugged it into the USB port it detected it straight away and connected to the wifi quickly. Well worth the price.

Best way to connect to the internet

Works fine, but a bit overpriced compared to others available (did not purchase something different because I wanted to ensure it would work with the security system).

USB Wi-Fi Antenna for DVR or NVR - SWACC-USBWIFI

Product worked as expected for a few weeks. WiFi capability suddenly disappeared. Could not re-establish WiFi functionality until I changed its connection to the other Swann DVR USB port. The jury's still out on how long the device will continue to function on the second USB port, and whether or not it will function again on either USB port if that happens. When it's working the WiFi signal is acceptable and usable.

Mixed results so far

The wif iUSB  antena didn't works, it's connect the DVR to the wifi router and few minutes later fails. I lose my money
