The Swiss Tech 7-inch Rafter Square features a solid aluminum body with easy-to-read numbers.  Square has continuous scribe notches. The square is easy to read and easy to use.  This rafter square is designed to make easy rafter pitch or slope calculations.  It is handy as a protractor, combination square and saw guide.  Durable aluminum construction has cast markings that will not rub off and a matte finish for reduced glare.  Markings include inch, Hip-Val and protractor scales. The rafter layout square is made from a durable anodized aluminum that is more durable than diecast and will not rust or corrode after exposure to the harsh job site elements. The rafter square features conversion tables for common applications.

It got the job done and it looks great! The powder-coat paint has been way more durable than I thought and it still doesn't have a scratch on it.

I use the square to draw out my lines before making any cuts to make sure I have the right measurements to prevent any mistakes. The square allows me to get angles and degrees easily. The numbers are bright and easy to read without having to be super close to it. I recently made my kids a bookshelf and this square made it so much easier. My lines are straight and angled correctly. My husband usually does most of the work but I was pretty proud of my self for doing this all on my own. The quality of the square is sturdy and feels like it can handle being used frequently.

You probably will not be able to use it on a framing job for a new construction home, but around the house projects with kids it is the best.

Sturdy

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm a home builder and I use a speed square daily and this is one of the better quality squares. It seems to be a bit beefier than normal squares. The black and white color is easily visible which is important because I only like to cut once. It is also a plus that everything is etched in because the color does eventually wear and you'll still be able to use it where other brands I've used weren't making them useless if you're making any angle, pitch, hip, or seat cuts. I also like that it has a good scribe, once again I've had squares with scribes that are too close to the edge that always crack making you unable to make a square mark.overall I'm very satisfied with this square and I highly recommend it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Not sure if this is actually Swiss made, but I wouldn't discredit their involvement. This was the nicest rafter square I've used for projects. It was nice having that extra inch (typically they are only 6"). The white on black color made it much easier to read quickly instead of just the typical embossed marking on an aluminum triangle. So far this has held up rather well, even after being dropped, kicked, and tossed more times than it should have been.
